What's up everyone. I recently installed Punishment Racing's stainless steel downpipe for my 2g awd and upon opening it's box, I realized it wasn't tapered down to 2.5 towards the O2 end. Now I have this huge exhaust leak due to the size mismatch at the connection point. Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so how did you solve it without using an aftermarket o2 housing? I was thinking placing the stock exhaust gasket over a 3inch gasket would solve the issue. Thanks.

I've used PR's 3" downpipe on the stock o2 housing before and it can be a challenge to seal properly. I used didn't use the stock gasket (too small) or the 3" (too large). Instead I went to the auto parts store and found a 2 bolt exhaust gasket somewhere in the middle. The usually have a box of random exhaust gaskets in the back the can flip through.

Another thing you can do is try to find smaller nuts. If you can find a 17 mm nut with the same threads as opposed to the 19 mm nut, you will be able to tighten it easier.

Also, since I couldn't get a socket on the nuts, I put an open end wrench on it vertically (not horizontally like it's supposed to go) and turned it with a larger screwdriver through the closed end of the wrench. I'm not sure if that makes sense, but it works.
