apex safc on 420a

i was lookin around the forums and was wondering. if i could use the apexi safc without using megasquirt to tune mt 420a turbo i just give porters perfomance. a 500 dollar deposit on my engine . so they can get started on the build. and they said i really dont need megasquirt to put down 350-400 hp but another quistion comes up . so i need fcd with the apexi safc or can i just tune with that especially since im putting bigger injectors in it let me know what u guys think please i am at a loss here as what too do.

porters told me one thing and everyone on here has specified something totally different. on the whole fuel mangement thing but i got a good idea of what i need for my build . besides this

Honestly safc doesn't do a whole ton for our cars. If i was you i would just take the money and buy a megasquirt. You can get the 3 bar map sensor for it so it makes the tuning a little bit easier and you don't have to worry about fuel cut. Plus if your getting bigger injectors your going to want megasquirt to control the fuel at idle otherwise you will be running extremely rich.

ok thanks. thats what im probably going to do then. i just wasnt shure though . do i need to run a fcd with megasquirt though or do i just run the megasquirt and will it do everything . instead of having to go and buy the 12-1 fmu and the fcd and all that ### it sounds like thats what everyone is implying is that it will do everything needed to tune my engine. because ill have a fully built engine. when there done with ported head ,and 272 regrind cams and would i benifit from buyin the whole megasquirt kit that includes the wideband and other stuff the price i saw was about 800 pretty much. but i also already have a wideband o2 already i believe with gauge but no fuel pressure regulator or wastegate just an internally wastegated turbo should that be fine

Good luck with those 272's. And if you go to Symtechlabs.com they will get you everything you need to run MS.

Safc works fine. I got it and was able to solve all my lean problems and cut back my 275cc. You might run out of tunability with your setup. MS is deffinately the way to go since you are built.

ok i will ###### just go with mega squirt then i was kindof, procrastanting on it because i didnt want to spend the money on it. but i guess i better so i can tune it more and have more options with my setup il keep evryone posted along with pics of the buid and progress. of evrything thanks for all the help everyone .
