Hey whats up guys... ok so over the past weeks i had a 3" pipe made to bolt in place of my apex muffler because top end was a lil restrictive... then one day i was playin with the muffler off the car at work... decided to see if i could take the little 2.5" reducer out of the inside of it.. just took an air chizzle to it and sure enough 10min later it slid right out.. now when you look inside it is like almost 4"!!! :D straight through.. Sounds VERY deep and Very nice when your WOT... ill try to post up an exhaust clip... but i would recommend who has this muffler to do it :thumb:

Thanks guys

I'm asuming you have just one of their universal mufflers & not the actual N1 system? The muffler that comes with the system is easily 3.5"+ all the way through the muffler. What size inlet muffler did you get (I'm wondering if it was a model ment for NA) being it has such a large internal restriction. You wouldn't think they'd offer a 3" inlet turbo muffler with that kind of restriction.

I have the same Apexi N1 muffler but with Custom 2.5" piping. So your saying you would reccomend taking the resonator out??

No, inside the tip of the N1, there's like a reducer silencer thing. I just looked, and mines a universal turbo model. I went out to look, and I took a hammer and screw driver and popped it out also. Ill respond back with a sound difference if I notice one. But it does look like a decent restriction.. Interesting.

Really? Is there a huge sound difference?

Yes very noticable difference... alot deeper at idle.. not so raspy.. very smooth deep tone all the way through.. and yes i would recommend replacing the resignator with a 3" pipe.. and taking out the pipe in the muffler... i measured it.. its 2.5" reducer inside the muffler... with it out really makes a difference to me... :thumb:

Its a leigit apex exhaust system.. 3 inch.. just before the it goes into the muffler it gets bigger i would say close to 3.5" into the muffler... then back to the 2.5 inch little reducer thingy inside the muffler... really good upgrade is all im saying.. sounds awsome an no restriction top end what so ever...:D

yeah do that!!:thumb:

mine has a removable silencer..is that what your talking about? or is there another reducer?

not the removable one.. if you look deeper into the muffler you will see what i am talking about.. the tip is 4" then it goes to 2.5" inside of the muffler... its tack welded it there.. a hammer an flat head would do the trick.. there will be two lips.. you wanna do it between to two little lips.. its like an inserted 2.5" pipe in the center of the muffler... need help jus let me know ill be glad to walk you through man :thumb:

this is a picture of the pipe i pulled out... i measured it and its 2.5" straight across... if you have an air chizzle i would recommend using it.. just makes things alot eaiser haha...
