hey i have a 97 spyder i took the motor out and dont really remember were everything goes i have a fresh rebuild 6 bolt engine i have all the tools to get it back together jsut needs someones help so does anyone want to come to idaho i will fly u over here and back? i also have an room u can stay in i know its kinda werid asking over the net its jsut that i need help puttin my car back together shit is everywere i have a brand new clutch flywheel 6 bolt 14b turbo everything i jsut need my car back together let me know if your good with dsm let me know here is your chance to come meet idaho.

no peices are everywere in my garge and no one knows what and eclipse is here like all there is is mustangs and slow hondas like mine no one really puts to many eclipse together i need some one that knows there shit! i wouldnt mine meet a new friend or paying the plan ticket so if anyone wants to get away for the weekend let me know

Not only is this a motor drop in, but this is also a 7 bolt to 6 bolt swap? Do you have all the parts for the swap(CAS,etc.)?

If you need it done right, this isnt a weekend thing....more like a week thing.

I really dont like 2Gs workspace. If this was a 1G I would be in....but 2Gs are not "roomy".

How "bout you buy a factory shop manual and match up the pictures with your peices, organize into groups and sub groups and go from there!!

I would help you but since I haven't spent much time inside the engines I would need a manual as well. You might look into the manuals on disk they have on ebay. They are pretty cheap but I don't know if they have every thing you need or not.

Hopefully you can find a better choice than me but if not I would need a manual, all necascary tools, a very detailed VFAQ or something simalar on the 7 to 6 bolt swap, Probably a plane ticket or transportation out there, room & board, and $8/hour for the job, and probably some stuff I am not thinking of right now. I would love to be in the position to do this as a favor but unfortanatly can't afford to right now.
I was just rereading the post. I may have misunderstood. I was thinking the motor was dissasembled, but if you have the whole 6 bolt long block in one piece I have dropped them in before. It was a 97 motor in my 95 ( I know I know, I didn't know about crank walk when I put it in) but I would be confidant with the proper FAQs for the 7 to 6 swap and all necesacary parts and tools we would have no big problem.

With the manual, vfaq, DSMtalk, DSMtuners and all the info and knowlege out there I think you should have a good chance of doing this on your own. It may take you a little longer but if the manual has all the bolt sizes, then you need a micrometer and you can start going through the bolts and if you have any questions post on here.

I think you'll be able to do this yourself if you take your time and use a shop manual. Before I bought my Talon, I only could changed my oil and plugs. Now, I've swapped trannies, rear ends, swapped motors, did timing belts, all sorts of maintance. Just be willing to take your time and double check yourself. With all the info us DSM'ers have on the net, and the forums to ask questions if you do get stuck, you should be able to do it. I've never done a 6 bolt in a 2G swap, but I put a 6 bolt in my '93, actually putting the motor in the car was the easy part, figuring out what to change from a 6 bolt to a 7 bolt once I started hooking everything up was what took most of the time. Just be methodical and use the resources, and I bet you can do it

If you have all this money to pay for someone's plane ticket on top of paying whoever helps you wouldn't it be better just to go to a mechanic? I bet you could work out a payment plan with the guy...some mechanics are nice
