I was ready to buy DSMlink, then i saw what it looked like and the features it had. I wasnt very impressed with it at all. I was wondering if anyone is Currently using Tunerpro RT to tune? This software looks really good and has the same if not more features than DSMlink does, and its only $30 as opposed to $550. I know eveything else i need to run the program and it would be about 350. I want to know if anyone is using this software, if your not you should really check it out.

The only bad thing about is; YOU MUST know what you are doing (how to tune properly)before buying this program, this is not for newbies.

Here is a link to the websote and screen shots of the program.

You also have to have a laptop in the car the whole time plus the emulator if you wanna change on the fly and not burn an eprom chip.I have the free version Ill use when I get mine socketed.

If you are cheap, know how to read (and comprehend), and don't mind learning, Tunerpro RT and the Ostrich is a great combo.....especially for under $200.

I am running the Ostrich now with Nick SD code, and will start tuning tomorrow with Tunerpro RT after i install my new LC-1.

I will be buying the Ostrich cable and a ROM burner so i can burn my own chips. I will probably end up leaving the laptop in the car and buy the RT version. My freind who is going to be helping me tune the car with Wrote and began his own Freeware tuning program and offers it for WRX's and EVO's, Enginuity.org. He has an extensive backround in tuning and tools to get the job done. I also have a freind who has been tuning with DSMlink for over 2 years and knows the program well and specifics with tuning the DSMs. We will be using Tunerpro for a short time, once we can get the stock ECU tables with the Ostrich we can incorperate them into Enginuity, alowing Real time ECU tuning for free to for the DSM community. This seems like the way i will be going for engine managnement.

BTW- if you have any freinds with WRX's have them check out Enginuity (Free tuning software), currently the program is begining to blow up as the next best thing. Soon (Months) it should be available for DSM's too.

I've played with tunerpro. It's a very nice program. I alreay had dsmlink when I was fiddling around with it, so I really didn't dive to deap into it. But I like the interface, and userablilty. You do need to know your stuff, and the program does take a bit of getting use to..

Tom, So that's your car? :)

As Tom can attest, I too am running Nick's SD code with the ostrich and an LC-1. I was the first to run with this set up. Hakcenter was a huge help. Works well... I can go from MAFS to SD in a matter of 1/2 hour with removing and installing the MAFS sensor. I have bin's for both, including WB support and extended maps. I only need my laptop to make changes. Normal driving doesn't need it. From what I can see, DSMLINK is nice and completely configured for you. I don't have experience with it, but have read the manual. If you like to tinker and are careful, you can use TunerPro or even DS-MAP. I use both. There are already bins and ECU files on the yahoo newsgroup. Check it out. There is a lot of info there.

If you are interested in the SD setup, hit the DS-MAP forums. It's pretty informative.

That should give you an insight.

i downloaded the software and am now playing with it. everything is quite straigtforward, but what is LV8?

We're just about to dive into using Tunerpro. My friend Kris and I have been tuning our cars editing the hex code manually and using evilscribe to change the timing and fuel maps. He just bought an Ostrich with Tunerpro RT and is converting to speed density with DS-MAP. We're just about to install the sensors and test fire it on the MAP this afternoon- we still need to go through and compare the stock bin and the DSMAP bin to figure out which of the other features like stutter/no lift, knock alarm, pk elim, etc will transfer over smoothly and which will need to be changed.
