Has anyone made a Vafc work on their 4g63? I have been scouring the net and forums only to find 50/50 answers. I have even read two where I guys say they did it. No one ever says how. I get the whole it only reads map but then some people say it can read all. Any help would be great. Looking for real answers not just a "go buy this instead". I know I can buy a safc or ecm link.

The hell is a vafc? Is it a type of safc?

Why would you want to tune with something so uncommon? Lol for the challenge of it?

Vafc has no way to change settings to Karman vortex for airflow reading. It only works on SD systems. And converting the dsm to sd just to use a vafc is working backwards.

Ok so no one has actually had this work. The reason I ask is because my friend swore up and down I could use a Vafc without problem no that I have one I can't switch to karman vortex like an safc can. However there are 16 different cboices for sensor in and out. So I did some digging and found the only one not assinged is 0. Also I found that the only sensor type that doesn't set in and out sensor numbers is karman. I thought this might work but its easier to figure out if someone else has experience with it.

Have your friend hook it up and program it to work on your car and let us know how it's done.

Hey now, not all Honda guys are like that. I had a Honda before i got into dsms. But it was a turbo crx. Started with a d16z6 swap, then went to a built b16.

I agree not all Honda guys are like that, hell every car make has it's particular owners.

Abc's 123's LOL

I get confused when it comes to the Honda motors too WTF

I hear b16 a lot though, couldn't tell you what car it comes from. I wanna say the S2k but don't quote me.

Anyways, VAFC, not usable in our cars.

It's the same thing to a Honda guy as 420a,4g63, etc is to a dsm guy... Lol

Who the hell are you? This thread is garbage I'll say what i want. I'm not from oakville asshole LOL. Ifs already been resolved that op won't so this correct? Because it would be a step backwards.

So yeah go #### off, I'm sure you make mesa proud, dick.

Hey was giving you some good advice. You should listen instead of turning into an asshat.

As did i, but i matured out of that scene, and distanced myself because of the majority of honduh owners and their Juvenile behavior. And you are right they are not all are the same and not all birds fly:p but most due.

Op, don't listen to the honduh crowd, as we dont speak the same language, good luck.

If you are remotely thinking about going to a safc, I would suggest you look into the maft gen 2 instead. For around the same price as a used safc 2 you will have more tuning points, gm maf/blow through and wideband tracking for wot.

This thread went way off track and sundenly came back on topic LOL. So I'm currently trying sell or trade this vafc for an safc. Was kinda hoping this would work just cause I'm stubborn and hard headed and love to torture myself for some reason.

Yeah ecm link would be awesome but my car has sat unfinished for too long and waiting for the cash for link pluse dyno time isn't an option right now. Once this chicago weather breaks I wanna install the few remaining components do the mechanical tuning and then dial it in with an safc wide band combo. It will be the culmination of 2 years of patients, planing, and extreme budgeting.

If you knew you were doing these mods then ECMLink would have been the first purchase You should have made.

This is such a common practice it makes me sick to my stomach. People spend thousands upon thousands of dollars on there engine and drivetrain but do not want to spend decent money for a good tuning solution:banghead:

I get it, some people are afraid of Computers and the software that is needed to tune a car, it's not an excuse though. The internet contain a wealth of knowledge and you can learn anything on here. Most people are just too lazy though.
