Anyone know how the Greddy Profec Type-S REALLY works?

I saw the valve has 3 holes that must be all unplugged. 1 for the pressure source, 1 for wastegate, and the other for external wastegate.

If I'm useing just the boost source and acuator wastegate, why does the external wastegate hole have to be unplugged? I don't want any dirt or anythign to get in there if maybe one day I move up to an external setup.

Also is the valve always closed until the boost level is reached or is it a variable type thing where it starts to open right before desired boost level is reached?!

No he is talking about the the Profec B type S. The boost solenoid has three holes on it, one is used with the internal wastegate (NO) thats a pressure source in and if have the external gate setup you use the (NC) port. The other port is the COM port that goes to the top of your external gate or the canister in an internal setup. Either way you do it you have to leave one port open.

To control the opening of the wastgate you use the GAIN feature. It will hold the wastegate closed as long as possible to allow for sharp boost control.

Well I ment I left the extral wastegate hole plugged and I couldn't build more then 10psi so I'm wondering why...after unplgudding the hole it seems to work fine.

Also in the manual it say for a 4g63 engine u must tap the line into the fuel pressure. Mine plugged into the BOV line. What' gives?

The head unit taps into the fuel pressure air signal. The boost solenoid taps in to a larger pressure source off the intake mani.

Ya I got it working, I'm just surprised the thing didn't work with that little cap in the external wastegate outlet.

LoL.... The reason it didn't work with the 3rd source capped is because when it's operating and the valve is opened it vents that pressure out the uncapped port so the boost signal isn't sent to the wastegate. When the valve closes it send the boost signal to the wastgate opening it up. With the 3rd port closed their is no where for the pressure signal to go and it just ends up going to the wastegate.

I have the Profec B Type II. It works the same way. It's just a slightly older design.

I'm surprised it didn't blow out though, i had atleast 10-15 psi behind it. Would have been bad though if it did, max and gain turned up all the way then it blows out and I would have boost insane amountsof boost OMG

Well I gotta say after installing it and taking that plug out, I like it a lot for far. Still gonna make some logs to see how much it's helping spool. My older mbc was an ebay special POS, but it held boost ok. Just leaked a lot.
