Anyone have experience with this harness?

If is a true Ralliart harness, you'll be playing with the big boys. :D

Definitely not a true ralliart harness, hell I don't even think ralliart makes racing harnesses. Looks very similar to my sparco's, I'd bet they make them all in the exact same factory.

They are not a legal racing harness anyway, strictly for show. A racing harness has to be SFI certified and are 3" across, not 2". Trust me you don't wanna drive around with a 3" sfi harness in your car, they are very uncomfortable.

Those fake belt systems are more comfortable, but honestly your better off with your stock seatbelts then those from a safty standpoint.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Excuse the ignorance, but what is the SFI certification? I looked in the SCCA rule book, and it dosn't mention any SFI requirement for harnesses. Is this something that's just required for road racing?

Hi,

I don't know about SCCA requirements, but it's required if your are running 11.99 or faster in any NHRA or NDRA classes.

Not sure about SCCA. I'm pretty sure you can use your stock seat belts so a SFI harness is not a requirement. Road racing however, depending on the class, requires a SFI harness. SFI is a standards safty rating for safty equipment on competition cars.

DJSVEN: SFI is not 2 years from the date you bought them but 2 years from the date they are stamped on the harness themselves based on production. If you look on your SFI sticker you will see the year markings then yours will be punched or marked somehow on the year. You have 2 years from that year only. So if your punched 2004 on the harness you have 2005 and 2005. In 2006 you have to replace to stay compeition legal. Always buy your harness late or early year to get the full years benefit from the harness.

Hi,

I know it's from the date they stamp the belts. They stamped my seat belts the day I purchased the belts. Thanks for clarifying it if it confused some people.

Sven
