Anyone got flownumbers for the big SMIC out there?

Hi!

I am currently looking for a Big SMIC for my S16G powered Gs-t.
So far my research have highlighted the Dejon Big SMIC and the old Hahn Racecraft SMIC being the best option.

Do anyone got flownumbers on these?

Hahn=lb/min? (found 270ci somewhere?)
Dejon=lb/min? (support 400hp, from Dejon site)

How many lb/min of airflow do they support, and also performance, how much power have people put down?

I guess with my S16G anything north of 350whp is a bonus.. ;) Anything is better than my stock SMIC thou.. :sosad:

Help me choose!

Thanks for any help! :)

I'm very happy with my Dejon big smic. With a custom, sealed duct flowing a lot more air than the stock duct allows, it stays cool at the outlet after a lot of abuse.

On my full weight 2g (3380lbs with me and a tank of e85), I went 12.7@109 driving somewhat conservatively. That works out to about 335whp by way of online hp calculators...I've never dynoed it. I was running an Evo 3 16g at about 27psi on that pass, flowing about 36lbs/min. There is definitely more in the setup, and the IC. I have no intention of going to a fmic for the foreseeable future.

Good to know. Do you have any pics of the custom air duct?

I'm going to do a write-up on it sometime soon with all sorts of photos, so keep an eye out.

mkiv supra smic, cheap and good to 400whp. If you plan on going bigger in the future a fmic would be the best option.

I have looked into the Supra smic option, and have decided to not go that route. So, just want a bolt-on style SMIC because of the shorter install time.
My plan is to stick with the S16G, and I don't really have the option to go FMIC, so I will have to stick with an bigger SMIC.

Thanks

If anyone got info on the Hahn SMIC's, how they flow and perform would be great!
There's just a whole lot of info on the Dejon Big SMIC than the Hahn.

Has anyone tried the bullseye power SMIC. shows 1 psi drop at 20 psi, and 43 lbs.min. I'll be puschasing one inthe next few weeks. second one down on the link.

Bullseye Power Turbos

I used a Hahn Smic with a 18g years back. I was very impressed with how it performed for a sidemount to say the least!
Do they still make them? I got a decent deal on mine which is why i went with it. They seem to be pretty rare in used form.
The Supra Smic will be plenty for the s16g and they are more available, most likely cheaper too.

I am running a Hahn SMIC with my E316G. Unfortunately, I don't have any hard data to give you.

But my subjective impression of it is that it works quite well relative to it's size. Excellent quality and fabrication. It bolts up perfectly using the stock bolt mounting holes. It seems like it will heat soak after a couple hard pulls but if it's for a daily driver I think it's a great alternative to a FMIC.

Hahn claims that it will flow enough for 400HP.

Hmm.. Do you got dsmlink? If so, i'm interrested In a log from a 2-3-4gear pull, if possible? :)

For the rest of you:

If you don't think of prize of the unit, what's the best choice?

•Quality

•Performance

•Install

Well, you already know I like my Dejon's performance, so here's a little testimony to quality of construction.

A few months back I hit something furry on the interstate at about 80mph, and luckily the damage was confined to the passenger front of the car. The Dejon IC was torn from the car, run over, and then it slid/tumbled along the interstate for a couple hundred feet. It came out of the incident with only two hairline cracks on an endtank, and only where the aluminum had been worn down from the skidding on a couple of corners. There was no damage to the core other than bent fins, and no leaks in the core itself. I'm thoroughly impressed with how well it survived, and I continue to use it with no noticeable loss in performance.

Keep an eye out for them used. Now that fmic's are so inexpensive you ought to be able to find one for a song. I paid $50 for mine.
