Anyone ever "shave" the eagle emblem?

I was wondering if anyone had done or had picture of anyone who had put bondo on the front bumper of a 97-98 eagle talon front bumper filling in the eagle emblem? I was wondering if this would make the bumper looks more sleek. If anyone has pictures of this please post it. Thanks.

It has to have been done, but I don't know what you'd use. Seems like Bondo would leap out of there, or crack like hell first time it got bumped. I'll never understand why they did that, it's one of the most hideously-outsized logos ever put on a car, as if to shreik, "Buy an Eclipse instead!!!"

And then there's the boomerang..... OMG

LOL boomerang, thats a good way to put it. ill have to use that sometime :D

and ya know defiant for some reason I always really liked your sig pic.

Yea I agree, bondo will not cut it. I guess that leaves fiberglass.

So no one has pics of this? And bondo wont work eh? How much would it cost for a place to fiber glass it?

I did it too the mitsu symbol on my first gen.....i used a plastic polymer type of body filler, worked great

I'm sure someone has. I filled the mitsu logo on my 97+ bumper with eurethane (i can never remember how to spell that damned word) body filler before painting it. I agree with defiant, bondo would probably crack and leap outta there.

I'll check my pics on my computer... but i dont think i have any.

Anyone else have a better pic? That one is really dark.

i disagree ... i think bondo will stay in it well. i shaved the emblem in my bumper, ill get some pictures tomorrow and post them, but look at it this way...

its not at the bottom, so scraping isnt a problem. the only way it would break is if you hit something or someone backed into your car, and if theres enough force to break it, your bumper would be broken anyway (fiberglass bumpers).

Urethane bumpers. Flexible. Bondo hard. Not flexible. Bend urethane, Bondo pop off.

yes but the bottom will flex and the top will break. How many times does your bumper need to flex at the top between your headlights?
thats just my opinion

Consider changes in weather too. Thats why its risky to do body work on a steel body with fiberglass. Notice how when you apply bondo, after it dries, you "flex" your applicator and it all cracks and falls off. It would suck to spend a few grand on a paint job and have that happen.:thumbdown
