anyone else's lug nuts keep coming loose?

You guys are being anal. 80psi is plenty enought to get them tight,
The tire mongers use a torque stick to limit torque.

Alright. Here's the deal. I ended up replacing lugs with smaller ones. These fit more snuggly inside of the rim. There was one stud that seemed to be stripped a little. I ended up using the new lugnut to rethread the stud. Thus far it has worked just fine.

I didn't use an impact wrench. No access to one anyways. I don't have a torque wrench with a digital readout, so I have to basically do it by eye on the wrench. I'm right @ 80 foot pounds on ALL lugs now.

All that is left is replacing the body molding, which I've sealed back together and painted. I have to figure out how I'm going to reattatch to car. Anyways, good looking out on all the feedback :dsm:

What wheels are you using?
Do you have the hub centric ring (or correct hub centric ring) installed?

17" Spectrum2000 chrome rims. And to the second part of the question... I have no clue. the rims fit on the car very snuggly. I've had these ri,s on my old 96 TSI and never had a problem like this. The lug nuts were the issue and now are resolved. Just have to fix fender and it'll be as good as new :dsm:
