well I got a BEGI from Hahn and I just want to know how to install it properly because I have a 1995 and I have that built in regulator on the fuel rail so I just want to know if I have it right cause it idles bad.

Look at this to see if you installed your fmu right.

I think the BEGI is an adjustable FMU so you might have to play with it. If it idles bad you might be running too rich.

thanks, kinda of helped but I want to see like a picture. is the vacuum line that connects to the fuel rail left alone? I was able to get it to idle perfect at one point but then it randomly stop having good idle.

Do you have an AFR / wide band? thats how to truly tell if your rich and by how much..

Its one of those Mandatory things, like a fuel pressure gauge.. idle FP should be around 43-48psi.

Didn't we tell you to get an SFMU?

If im not mistaken , inst there a check valve needed for the BEGI ? Its been a while since if seen an antique. My suggestion (and we know how you like to heed them LOL) is go with a SFMU. Ive seen them on ebay for 60-100

no I haven't soon though. I found a portfueler really cheap maybe he still has it by next week.

I didn't get the sfmu cause they said it was fine for 8psi. But I'm thinking of getting that smfu I saw one on eBay from obx i think. Should that be good?

I'am going to draw something on cad to show you guys how my setup is if I have time if not a piece of paper haha

paper is fine.. its hard to open a .dwg file if we dont have a converter..and your setup is probably like everyone elses..so not sure what value that will add..?

OBX= crap. Dont buy it. get a vortech SFMU

IF you get the port fueler, youll need an aeromotive 1:1 ( if it doesnt come with the kit)

so that means you need to make up your mind what your going to do, IF you get the port fueler, buy a 1:1 aeromotive, not a SFMU..

Why would you want a port fueler tho? i thought you were only staying at 8 psi...the Port fueler is WAY over kill, and well, probably going to be hard for you to figure out, b/c YOU will need to tune it, and since you dont have any of those fancy gauges we told you to get.. you wont be successful, and your engine will pay the price.

and befor you spout off about how you know a shop or some bull, know this: most shops wont touch your car for these reasons
1: Its a 420a.. not many are famialar, so they dont even want to bother
2. portfueler is kind of obscure, so most tuners again, dont bother with it.

also: depending on what split second EIC you get (he probably has the old one) it doesn't have a direct input for the wide band, which makes logging alot more cumbersome. This isnt a bolt on part, well it is, but youll need to run a return line, take your schader valve apart, and do some wiring and then Tuning...so know that before you spend cash on it,.

+1 I think this is a good idea even though people run without all the time.

Ehhh FMUs like the vortech and begi have been used without too much problems by a lot of people.

If im not mistaken , inst there a check valve needed for the BEGI ?

This is also true there is a check valve AND restrictor needed. If your car is giving vac leak issues you are missing the check valve, if you are having a flooding/running rich issue then a restrictor is needed. I would contact Hahn and tell them you have a 95 cause I'm willing to bet that you need a restrictor... of course I am no expert on 95 fuel systems OR Begi fmu's. Good luck man.

turbo timier is a luxury..

looking at the pic, looks lik your vac source for your BEGI is the turbo? i would make it go to your intake manifold.. just my .02

Ive never heard of that wideband, hope it works for you.

Portfueler. Your comment "only reason i would want to get it would be just to know i have a tuned car you know" makes me think your not understanding what this thing is. when you get it , YOU WILL NEED TO TUNE IT. if atmosphere pressure changes and temp changes, your tune changes, so it depends on when you tune it. Tune it on a cool day, and then run it on a hot day, youll be leaner and not tuned. take this how ever you want to as im not trying to bash, more or less save your stock engine , but your a complete noob, and it seems to me you think slapping this system on wil give you a "TUNED" car.. which it wont, you have to tune it. cell by cell. Its not like MS where it has baro correction and enrichment at different ambient temps. This is for people who want OVER 8psi but dont want to get MS.. i know b/c i had the Portfueler for a few years. Its a great part, but using it and calling your car tuned is not what it is, this will tune your car for a certain ambient temp and baro pressure. once you change those 2 factors, tunes off, depending on the outside conditions will dictate how much your off. Understand?

So if I were you, i would actually decide what you wanna do. If its 8psi, then either stay with you BEGI, or upgrade to SFMU. that will give you fuel based on your computer ( that CAN adjust for barro and temp) and then you can use the money you saved to get other things, or you can give it to me.

My main advice to you is to search..you seem to just wanna thro parts on.. this isnt a honda.. its a 420a, a not very well supported platform for people who just wanna bolt on and go. if that's what you want, buy a civic.

Get a wideband
Get a SFMU (if you choose)
Get an EGT gauge
Get a Fuel pressue gauge (in cabin)
Get a boost/Vac gauge if you dont already have one.
then enjoy your 8 psi.

4 months.

alright thanks yea that's true I'm just going to waste money cause 8psi is good for me. Well I' am not even hitting 8psi more like 7psi. I ment to say AFR / wide band. what happens to the stock fuel pressure regulator cause it leaks gas I have a hose on it.

yea i have searched. I tried emailing Hahn for customer support cause 1. I lost the instructions 2. The kit i bought was from hahn but it was for the 97 models and those dont have the built in regulator on the fuel rail. 3. they charge me 50 an hour for customer support because i didnt buy the kit directly from them.

yea it sells it, thats why i have the vac source to the turbo cause instructions say to put it there.
