Any idea's for a NEPA DSM meet, track or dyno day maybe?

I think when it gets closer to the time of the meet, That we should start a list who is definatly going to be able to show up, Maybe each of us can bring something small also, Being it looks to be like it will be a good outcome, There will be tons of food and we can have a nice cookout also. I know i'll definatly be there(if my car dont break down ) i'm definatly going to have a camera and hopefully get ahold of a video camera also

Well still no word yet from Beaver Bob. I'm starting to wonder about what sort of a track he runs. I don't know the guy personally but I have to say that if I had a bunch of people 25+ who wanted to pay me to rent my track for an hour, at $30 per person, I would be much more enthusiastic about replying to their emails. I don't know, I will post as soon as I get a reply. Once I hear from him, we can set up a final date and maybe even a rain date.
I too like the idea of a little track racing then a bit of BBQ.

What exactly did you e-mail him?

If you sent him an e-mail asking him when the track was available, how much it was, etc., he may not respond about that, as it's already been answered. Those sort of questions should all be answered here:

You can rent the track for a minimum of $300 for 3 hours for up to 10 cars. Each additional car is $30.

Most of the time, groups will find that a 3 hour slot in all they need. Believe me you can get a lot of runs on a street car in 3 hours. Youcan choose from our track rental schedule on the website.

OK so now we need to pick what month and what time of day we are looking for. Our options are 10AM - 1PM 1PM - 4PM or 4PM - 7PM.


Personally I would pick either 10 to 1 or 1 to 4 because this will work out best if people want to have a bar-b-q afterwards. Most state parks close at sunset unless you are camping.
Month wise I think that May or April would be the best because it won't be too humid out.

So I guess what we can do now is have everyone post what month and which time slot would best fit into their schedules. Majority will be the time and month we go with. If you prefer something then please note that it is a preference. My goal is to find a date at which most people can come. Also only post if you seriously plan on going.

I say we go with April 2nd. 10-1 and for a rain date April 16th 1-4.... I live really close to Beaver Springs, So i can be of any help i can with this just let me know.. More than Likely Bob is gonna want the $300 Prior to the Date we choose. So however we wanna go about gettin the money to Beaver i can help alot. As for having a BBQ. Im not sure were we would go to have one. Beaver is out in the Middle of nowhere so i mean we want to find somewhere relativley close with alotta parking. Ill do some askin around. Heck we could probably as Bob he might know. But Lets try n get somethin pieced together.. Ill do whatever i can to help. Just let me know i dont live far from the track.

I will be able to make it whenever month and date it is planned but i think 1-4 would be the best time for the people that are driving far. As for the BBQ how big is Beaver Springs is there anyway we could have it at the track after the 3 hours or do you think that they wouldnt like that?

Im all up for a few meets this year, but IMO March 2nd is too early. Not sure about further south, but Im from Scranton area and its cold out until at least late March/early May. Not that I want you guys to change anything because of me, but thats just my opinion. Whenever there is a final date I will let you know if Im in or not.

I'm thinking May would be better with concerns to the cold. If ya think about it... do you really want to be out in like 30 degree weather watching and racing? If we go in April, there is a good chance there might still be snow. I know the past few Aprils, it has snowed in the first week or 2 up here in Monroe County.
The BBQ would be awesome, I think we should have it at a park and the idea for everyone bring something is awesome! If it all works out, this is going to kick a$$!!!

I agree that we should make this closer to early May. IMO we should also try to make this within distance of NEPA as well. Id rather not travel 2 hours for a track day/BBQ. Again, I dont expect anyone to change anything because of us NEPA guys, but keep us in mind.

I'm in Easton, no DSM but I have a 3000GT VR-4. I'd definitely be interested in going if it's near NEPA (my roommate lives in Carbondale), so I'll be keeping track of this thread, sounds like a good time...

well i'm up for almost anything, i agree the warmer the better. whatever you guys decide is cool. any of you scranton area guys wanna hang out get in touch, we are always doin something on the weekends and theres always a dsm in the garage bein torqued on in some way.

It kinda looks like the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area is the middle ground for most people and as far as I know McDade park in Taylor, PA would be the best spot for the bbq since it's free and there's a hell of a mountain ride with some awesome twisties on the same road plus tons of parking. However it's just a bbq suggestion and it's a group decision so keep the options going.

Ok guys you're right keeping it in NEPA would be the best bet. But we can only go where a track will have us. I tried to get numidia, but they don't answer my emails so what am I supposed to do? There isn't a plethora of tracks, or anything for that matter , up here in NEPA. The closest is Numidia which is about 45min - 1 hr. from w-b. Beaver springs is the only track that even mentions the renting option. Again guys I would really love to have it around these parts but unless someone has a track in their back yard that no one knows about we are gonna be stuck with Beaver springs. Island dragway mentioned just comming on a test and tune night, now I don't know about you guys but I don't want to drive to a track, pay $30 and just get 2 passes. Again it's up to you guys, if you don't want to do a track day then we can just have a BBQ that is why I started this thread with a few options. I too don't like the idea of breaking something 2 hours away from home. Just keep it in mind

Hey guys...brand new to the forum...But proud to be a part of the DSM community...Actually I don't even have my car yet...but it's a definate lock i'm getting in...within the week. So i'm down for a meet. let me know the date so i can take off work...I live 10 mins form Philly in southern Jersey But i'm willing to drive. Sounds like a Blast...and Mine as well show off my Stock DSM...anywasy i'll keep an eye on the thread so I know when it's happenin. But count me in!

I cant seem to get ahold of anyone at Numidia. But from people i talked to they said theyw ere pretty sure that the new owner doesnt allow it to be rented. so idk. I know a buncha guys from turboforum.net want to rent as well. Id say we go with Beaver. Its cheap and a fun environment.
