Any idea what is wrong?

So my '95 GSX stalled out on itself in neutral at a stop light and won't start up again... no idea why

(fyi, the IAC is bad)

I came up to a light and my idle air controller is going bad so the RPM's dropped to 100 (usually come back up) but wen't all the way down to 0 and stalled itself out in neutral... after pulling the MAF sensor, the IAC, and resetting the ECU nothing changed... When you try to start the car, the accesory belts turn, but the timing belt does not. There is spark, and there is fuel, but the car doesn't want to turn over. I was told that it could be the timing belt is completely stripped from teeth on the crank, all the way up to hearing that a piston could be jammed... No idea. PLEASE HELP!!!

change thhe timing belt first. because your accessories belts are not supposed to turn with out the timing belt moveing. i would stop cranking it over till you get a new timing belt. you could risk more damage.

Yeah.. The crank's moving but the cams aren't, if you haven't belt valves yet you're insanely lucky. It's not starting because you have no compression.

after whatching the video again i didnt hear any sounds of him hitting lifters but the damage could already be done. here what you wanna do. Get a brand new timing belt, retime it reset the ecu and all again then do a compresion test. and dont be supprised if it still doesnt start its very possible you bent valves.

I'm thinking the same thing. I had a very similiar problem, on my other eclipse the timing belt snaped. So i replaced the belt and it would crank but not start. After tearing it down i found my intake valves on cylinder one where bent nasty like. same sound and symptom as what your experiencing.

Wtf? I've never seen that happen! I agree with changing T-belt, retiming, clear ecu, compression test.

I would pull the valve cover off first, and pull up on the lifters. if any of them have noticeable play/movement, that should tell you if those valves aren't seating correctly from being bent.

Its obviously timing related. Pull it apart and the problem will be staring you in the face. It sounds like its turning over pretty quick, a.k.a. lack of compression = bent valves!

But as DarkKiller stated valves and lack of compression do that as well.

If the piston was jammed the crank wouldnt be spinning, therefore all the crank driving belts would not move.... I noticed the cam gears did move a little tiny bit on the first turn over! Definately stripped belt!

Bought a new timing belt and then I'll get valves if I need to cause I'll pull the head off later and check it out. Thanks for the help guys!

Same thing happened to me a couple years ago. I was coming to a red light, pushed clutch in, car stalled and wouldn't restart. Belt had stripped teeth at the crank so it wasn't turning the cams. I put a new belt on, car started right up and drove perfectly fine for over a year until I pulled it to do a rebuild. Long story short: try the new belt and see what happens, you may be fine.

Mine was the balance shaft belt that jammed up the timing belt. Problems problems problems.......for me anyway. good luck!!!!!!!
