This was just a thought but could the stock exhaust have so much back pressure that the wastegate wouldnt open causing me to have this boost proublem.

Not that I know of. It's my understanding the exhaust back pressure helsp equalize the flow differences between the big outlet on the hot wheel and the smaller wastegate outlet. The backpressure isn't going to hold the wastegate shut. The actuator is trying to hold it shut againt the exhaust pressure in the turbo housing. Once the pressure exceeds the spring in the actuator housing the wastegate will open. Boost creep is when the wastegate has opened but the gasses won't flow out the passage, prefering to push their way out around the hot wheel and spin up the compressor on their way out the larger opening. The problem usually happens then you lower the backpressure in the exhaust, like when you go from stock to a 3" exhaust.

Have you made sure that the actuator is working correctly by applying air pressure to the nipple. It should open the arm at about 10 psi.

Hey Eric, what happened the other night?? I thought u were gonna call at like 5-5:30, at 7 i went out to dinner with the rents, saw that u called at like 6:45, lmk whats goin on, if u still need that boost leak tester, or just another hand........

Ok tommarow hopfully it will stop raining ..but even if it doesnt I am going to see if the acuator isnt the proublem and try the test steve mentioned..I realy dont know what else it could be. If it turns out that the brand new acuator is the proublem I am going to be slightly anoyed with the people that sold it to me. Considering I have 100s of parts that are 16 years old the last thing I would suspect is one of the ones I have replaced as new.

Josh's car no longer has brake squeal, installed his new clips that he bought in like literally 10 mins......

Ha....Yeah PROPS to Robb for the quickie brake job:cool:

Bought some pad clips ($$ more than the pads!) and came over in the morning...Literally 10 minute job and the noise gone and I was back on the road with less noise....Ok, check off that problem on my To-Do list....

Next week is fuel system weekend! I have been hella busy every single weekend for the past 2-4 months I've had the fuel system here, but finally I can go over next weekend and we'll do the fuel pump and maybe injectors, if the weather will let us...###n rain

Jason too bad you didn't come to the North Beach meet thing....I only went to the North meetup but we had a decent turnout and lots of cool dsm's and chicago dsm old skoolers...

Jeez, so busy, so little times t do things....2 weekend later Im heading down to GLD as I finally got my launch down...Turns out 4k is my sweet spot on the stock clutch...

Good luck rob on the tranny install...It looks really good at the moment so hopefully once its all said and done you don't have to worry about something breaking or slipping when you launch too...ROFL ...You have to get to these meets too

Yep that was it the the brand new acuator that i got with my turbo kit is bad air just farts right out the hole where the arm goes into the top hat.. I put the old one on and I am holding a stedy 11psi with the stock BCS.... Car is Runing great. I still need to address my IC boost leak, breaks, mount my guage, and small oil leak at the drain tube.. But mechanicaly runing right Finialy. Thank you Steve and everyone else for your wonerfull advise.

Eric

Fuel Pump is on....

Robb, you should see the fuel fitting, ha.....I have it sitting with me in my car...We cut that sucker off...Boy was it stripped!

Uhhuh, very stripped, ya now all you need is your injectors in and you can start boosting and tuning, good shit man, if you need help with the injector install, just give me a call, it wont take long at all.

Just make sure you have new insulators that fit your injectors and new o-rings for the rail and rail fittings. As long as you don't loose the rail spacers into the engine bay or break a injector wire it shouldn't take more than 20 mins to swap injectors.

Steve

^^^^ Yup, thanks for the advice, ive done injectors on a 4G63 3 times before, i know the drill, they were on a N/T but the install is still the same. Heyy josh what size injectors do you have anyway, did you order/recieve them yet?? I remember you saying something about ordering injectors a while ago...

Ya, I have had the injectors here for like 2 months, ROFL

They are 560cc injectors off an evo8...The prev. owner said the o rings are new...

Robb, if you wanna install the injectors with me and then do some tuning after that would be awesome....Im not rich at all right now, and I actually did have the SAFC leaned out a couple % and it was already showing some small knock....

So, lemme know when you wanna come take a look and we can get these in quickly...I know it's not hard, but I also wanna get this done before I fill up again b/c the fuel rail leaks a ton of fuel when you get the fpr off...

Peace
-Josh

New as in never used before or new as in barely on for a couple K miles new?? If they were used at all for however long we'll need to get new ones....just come over tomorrow and we'll see whats good.

I need to make it out to one of these meets. Are any of you guys going to NOPI, Battle of the Imports, or the Shootout?
-Keith.

Steve...I have some major problems....It all involves datalogging, the ecu and the wiring....Basically, my logger cable doesn't work, my abs light is on, and one of the ecu wires on the second ECU connector is detached...It's all related...Might be causing some other random interior short outs

I was hoping one day you could help me with this, maybe giving it a once over or helping me with this online or on the phone....I met you at the North Meet for the North Beach Meet and you seemed cool, and nobody has been able to figure this out...I just know if anyone can figure this out, it's definitely Steve the Wiseman....

close enough tho no biggie

Hey eric im in CT probably by the time you read this, Thursday at 5pm I will be in New Milford CT once again, ill be back this following tuesday, and i plan on starting a teardown of my car to replace the tranny, i just need a few things, new clutch fork, new pivot ball, not so sure about the TOB, its got less than 3K on it so i dont think i will need a new one, but that as well as the 4 seals for the transfer case and tranny, and of course fluids and the new tranny will be ready to go in. I will give you a call and have you come on down to my house if you want to just help me and see whats involved with removing the tranny, its not hard it just takes a little while, disconnect the balljoints, pull the axles, remove intake and UICP, battery, starter, blah blah blah, drop the crossmember, drop the driveshaft, pull the transfer case, unbolt tranny plus many other miscellaneous parts and shes out. (Very quick summary, many steps missing just so everyone is clear on that) With the right tools and some elbow grease it should be completed in one day, given everything fits together like a glove, *knock on wood*.

It would help if you told me which wire is detached.

ECLOUSTON- Dude....Speak of the devil!! My car makes the exact same noise at the exact same time....I am also running the stock clutch, except I launch on it at 4000rpm and run 17lbs daily...So, it was expected...My noise seems to happen towards the rear of the car tho???

I will be at the Northside Meeting Place tonight! I will see you all there....again

Steve, I don't know which wire is cut....On the ecu, it's the second connector that has it....It is the bottom row and 6th pin I believe from the left side...I can show it to you at the northside meet tonight if you attend...

-Josh
