i saw the ecu and one of the capacitors was really bad where you could see the sludge all around it. It didn't look like the board was trash, but i'm no expert like you.
Given that, there's likely some repair work needed to fix the corroded power traces and a good cleaning to stop the electrolyte from eating any more copper.

Hey guys. I'm new to DSMs and am looking to meet up with others in my area to pickup some tricks and ideas. I live in Great Lakes. If anyone lives near by let me know. BTW I have a 95 Eclipse GSX.

Great Lakes? Are you in the navy?

The great lakes is considered as the area around the great lakes of lake michigan, etc

Sunday at Speedquest it is, oh and I wont be hitting up any track until my trannys in :)...

Yeah, I'm in the Navy. The mailing address is Great Lakes here but I can see how that would cause a problem when referring to "Great Lakes" LOL . I'm glad to see there are so many people here with DSMs. I had a Monte Carlo Z34 before and NOBODY seemed to do any serious work nearby. Oh well.

JAASOOON found me a tranny!!!!!!!!!!!! YESSSSSs 250 for a JDM GVR4 with like supposedly 30ishK, some old married guy who hasnt had a DSM for years and just wants the trans gone, he had it in his 90, HAHAHAHAHAHA, thank you Jason, I owe u big time for that find..

Man where do you guys meet? I wanna go...and rksudrick, i'll take you up on that datalogger because i need one bad...

Ahhh, damn, wish every1 coulda came, we had like 6 though, it was all good, heyy jason call me bout that tranny thing tomorrrow, lmk what his # is, tell him tuesday I can give him the $$ or whenever I have off, we'll drive up there and get it.

Sorry guys, missed you all by a few minutes....I stayed till about 7-7:30 with SolidBoostTsi and then I head out....I have never seen so many turbo honda's in my life...All so clean and well done too

On the dyno when I was there, they put on a 400whp GT30 SRT4, a T/A, a diesel truck, a Light modded supra TT, and at the end they brought on one of the civics in the shoproom...It had a giant turbo peaking thru the front bumper, and they ran it open DP for good numbers....It had to be the loudest Honda I have ever heard in my life, and I think it dyno'd somewhere in the 500whp+ range....

Too bad I didn't get to say Hi to you all again...I kinda thought you guys would be there a little later so I left at about 4:45pm and it's not too close...It's cool, we had fun looking at all the shop cars, sticking our hands in the GT42r, and talking about our projects/plans that may or may not ever happen...

Robb--Wondering if sometime when you are not working on your car, or maybe then also I dno, you could come look at the brakes again....That noise has never gone away on the left wheel, and we swapped the new rotors on like 3 weeks ago....I would gladly help you work on your car also if you need a hand...Trannies can get heavy ya know ;)

Hopefully me and SolidBoost can get the Fuel setup on next weekend if he has time...15psi is only fun for so long, and then 18psi sounds a hell of a lot better!

EDIT: I didn't take pics at the dyno day, but I took tons at the JGTCA meet with David and his RS60 monster, and my friend Rich and his evoIII 2nd Gen...We represented the DSM crowd with 1 other dsm and an evo, and the majority of the other crowd were Modded Supra's, 240's, and the old skool JDM corolla's...I'll get those pics up here, and some pics of the Races in Chicago from Sat. Night where there at least 10 smack talking DSM's

Next meet hopefully soon
Josh

When the car was cold pulling out of speedquest it boosted to 20 psi befor it cut like when it was warm then it wouldnt go that high again . Not to say I want the boost that high I think Ill be happy with like 16 psi since I have no fuel mods. So basicly I am all good if I only push the petal 2/3rds of the way to the floor if I am over 3000 rpm. I will Boost leak test it to see what happens. But got any ideas other than that .I know you installed the same turbo. Did you have any of these issues?

First is a boost leak test.
Make sure that you have good spark plugs gapped to 0.028 and good wires.
Don't run over 14 psi without bigger injectors. The stock 450s will be running about 100% duty cycle at that point.

Steve

Heres the thing I havent done any adjustments to the turbo it is all still set to stock, no boost adjustment valve nothing Stock exhaust too so theirs plenty of back pressure should not have any kind of boost creep..The thing I am not realy sure about is the arm on the waste gate acuator is ajustable and has a nut on it with the arm being thredded I am also thinking it maybe from the low vacume Jason mentioned it didnt go above 13 psi at an idle. The reason why it seems like fuel cut maybe my afpr didnt raise the pressure in the fuel rail. Not to mention the nut on top wasnt tite on the o ring. Anyways Thats what happened after I left speedquest.. if anyone has any sugestions I would be happy to read about them please dont be shy.. I am going to make a boost leak tester tommarow after work. Wouldnt mind maybe a link to how a how to on that eather .

Thanks
Eric

I have a boost leak tester if you want to borrow it.....oh and pics coming right now!!!
