Good ole' tuners....Too busy working on the ever-so-annoying dsm to really deal with it tho...

New things:
- Me and Rob did my Rear brakes, yet the noise is still there, just less severe?
- Me and Rob attempted the Fuel pump, but no luck...The fitting is too stuck for line wrenches and PB Blaster----Vice Grip time!
- SAFC hooked up but some wires got stripped and some disconnected so the majority of my interior has become an electrical nightmare, everything seems to short out or just stop working?
- Installed my 3" intake but boost leaks and poor fitment keeping me from enjoying it
- Once again, everything delayed b.c of fuel pump....Can't install my 560cc injectors nor tune the car
- Coolant Leak Worse than EVER! Refill it twice a week, and the puddle gets larger by the day!

Ummm, that's all I can think of for now....Me and Boost will probably get most of this fixed or sorted out, if not, then what a waste of a clean DSM! Stupid Money pits....

Hey, if you need help with the electrical let me know.....you guys got my cell....

Damn search button doesnt work, anyway, Josh I still think that noise is from your brakes, your left rear anyway, I know its not the dust shield, I moved that out of the way, and it seems to come and go, I think it has to do with the caliper not depressing back all the way, causing the pad to scrape along the rotor, the piston on that caliper was super hard to compress, and as far as your fuel pump issue, your gonna have to get that cover off, and get another one, junkyard on washington has DSM's, that thing is rusted to all hell. Cut the fuel line, and just splice another piece of hose onto it, and connect it to the new cover, thats really all you can do, that line is kinked, and I can almost guarintee you that fitting will not come off, unless the PB finally loosens it, but if I tried turning that damn thing with a line wrench and stripped it with a line wrench, then its not coming off.

Ya, we'll have to figure something out...

Rob---Lemme know when we can work on the brakes then...I have been told that Autozone does sell the pad clips, so we might have an easier time getting the pads to stay this time...We can rent that tool again also....Boost leak test might be difficult b/c this 3" intake I just put in is totally cramped in there and Im not looking forward to taking it out and putting on a different coupler for the tester....

Hopefully I can get some help on the coolant leak and fuel pump....For the pump, I wanna try using some good vice grips and see if it'll come off finally...Then, injectors should be a sinch, and tuning is well, tuning....

Damn, one day this DSM will be 100%; well, maybe in the 90-ish range;)

kraka, this is just normal crap that happens to everyone. You've got a really REALLY clean dsm, but is still old.

I do suggest doing things one at a time instead of trying to tackle it all at once and doing a half ass job....or leaving things undone.

Start with the fuel pump first. You're gonna need a new cover. Give us a call if you need to head out to the junkyard.

^^^^^ Exactly, doing many things at once on these cars is asking to go mentally insane, especially on a 1G.

Just to update everyone....

we are almost done with Jose's turbo kit on his 420a. We started it up and theres a small leak from a tee on the coolant line and both sides are leakin on the oil feed line. They're not bad, but they do need to be taken care of. Other that that, it was running fine.

YESS finally after the oil filter from hell popped off, how long were we trying to get that thing off before you and Jose got it off? Oh well, the point is that we got it off, and hopefully tomorrow we will fix those leaks and I can hear it run.

Hey everyone, we should set a date for this next meet soon, Id have to leave a 2 week notice at work, hehe, so lets figure it out and set a day and time and place.

I am pretty much open as long as we have a day or two notice......Let me know what you need us to bring as far as food and what not...... Hey jason you are going on the 13th right????? Nestor and my wife and I are going might have two others too

Ya let's set this for a couple of weeks at least....

I need some time to get the car up to date, like tuning the car and installing the fuel system, which should be a 2 part process of the next 2 weeks...

Oh ya, Rob, gimme call, I need that wheel lock and also I can pick up some new pad clips and we can see if we can't just fix these brakes already....The sound is just as bad now as it was when we changed it, and if it's metal to metal I don't want to ruin a new set of rotors this quick

Whats on the 13th???

I know Speedquest is have a free bbq and dyno day on May 6/7th... (I know, I know a lot of Honduh's...but I ate like 6 hotdogs last time...seriously)

Jason, any more info on the dyno day/bbq? Where is this place, I would be down for checking it out....And did you say free dyno, or just free bbq?

Ha, speaking of honda's, I destroyed one on saturday coming back from chicago...Stayed in 5th gear the whole time at 60% throttle says the SAFC....Walked him and waved to the girl in the passenger seat;)

Score 1 for DSM; -1 for Honduh

I have to work this saturday till 4, so if you want to go at like 5 on saturday, Im down, or just say screw saturday and go sunday im free all damn day, I dont think my DSM will make it there though, hehe, damn tranny, anyway, I dont think Ill be able to hit up the north beach, unless I ride along with someone else, again my tranny. Oh and eclouston, my #'s 203-994-7757, hit me up, me and Jason (Jingx284) will probably come to Round lake and check your car out, its not white by any chance, and you werent in Libertyville today were you??

Robb...

I have been doing quite a bit of racing/pulls in the last few days....Now more than ever I am getting super nervous when I hear the screeching metal to metal sound of my brakes when Im murdering a honda at 115mph!

I planned to do some car work this weekend, but apparently I will be gone friday-sunday, so if sometime this week you are free after you get off work, maybe we can give my car a once-over and see if we can't just find out what's making this god-awful noise again! New brakes shouldn't make metal to metal noises, and we've already ruled out the wheel bearing...It' doesn't seem to be the dust shield anyway...

Shiittt, this is getting annoying, lemme know when you will be free asap since Im hoping to be done with this brake crap once and for all....I can pick up anything we need at autozone if we happen to find something with the wheel off....

Beating Honda's is fun, but kinda a ego breaker when the 'clunk clunk clunk' sound is louder than the 3" exhaust and 3" intake spooling up the turbo....Makes for an odd mix of sounds...Ha, btw I got a vid of 1 of my kills...

Lemme know
-Josh

are those awd dyno runs or just 2wd? also we should meet i meet regularly with a group caleld jgtca focus 99.999% on rwd and awd japenese cars

Speedquest does mostly honda's, but 3 of cars they brought to hin were dsm's

NIICE GALANT, I wish I had one, that would be the only car id sell my talon for, unless its a newer talon, but anyway Josh, Im telling you that cannot be your pads, I installed them correctly for sure, I can pull the wheel and check them out thurs or friday after 2, thats when Im off of work, but you'd have to come to my house, my cars chillin in my garage for a while. Anyway, I think its that caliper to be honest with you. Also, did you get that fuel pump in?? How about the injectors, and did you tune your car yet?? Oh and jason, we fixed jose's car, it doesnt leak oil or coolant anymore, no more leaks at all.
