SWEET! :thumb: My car will be "green" I hope this time next year, I don't feel like paying a shady SMOG shop to 'pass' my car.

The MT90 and lightweight gear oil is for the transmission, Shep suggests a 50/50 mix for higher hp DSM's but anything over 600hp he said to call. OMG The heavyweight is for the rear diff, I'm not replacing it though until I get the Frontline Fab cover.

Kris and Alex came over Friday and basically helped me knock out (I should say I helped them) 95% of the install. Saturday and Sunday I tied up the loose ends and broke in the transmission up on the jackstands and gave her a good test drive around my apartment complex. Somehow the car dropped all the power steering fluid and the clutch needs some adjustment as well, other then that the DSM is officially back on the road and shifting out of 1st gear.

Well hopefully sooner then this time next year my car will be running dsmlink, might need to find a spare ecu I can send them so my car isn't down, the troubles one goes through to maintain a dd

noted....an elephant never forgets.

you would still be trying to get the axle in the hub without :tease:alex there.

You all should have seen :tease:Alex dang he is a workaholic and he ate the crap out of some pizza. If :tease:alex worked half as hard as he did on friday then he would have 3 running cars.

My car made it to work perfect this afternoon then once I almost got to Kris's I dropped cylinder #1 and sounded like a Subaru. Then it started up on all 4 once I left and on the drive home I dropped cylinder #3, strange since I have spark and fuel on the cylinder I'm losing. I think its the E85 thats been in my tank for 3 months collecting all that water...

Were you going to send one in for an eprom conversion?

I have the one from my 97 laying around that you could use, only it's for an auto. Not sure if that would matter for dsmlink

2g ECU's don't change between A/T to M/T and the only thing that changes between the AWD and FWD ECU's is the top speed since the FWD DSM's came with an H rated tire. All I'm trying to say is any 2g ECU will work on any 2g just fine, if of course the ECU works in the first place. :thumb:

My best friend growing up is currently going to Colorado State working on a degree in art. He wanted a few shots of my car for his next set of REFLECTION pieces, heres his first one he did on Sunday and it was due today (Monday) so he only had one day to really work on it. It looks pretty damn good if you ask me! I'll post up the others as he sends me pictures of them...

you should tell him to put HOOSIER on the tires
Thats funny you say that because he did make the tires look like the Hoosiers, at least I thought so. The pictures I gave him the car had the black Evo IX wheels with the Potenza tires on them, I guess it just so happened he made them look like slicks.

Do you know what medium he is using?

I used to do a bit of drawing as well, but haven't ever tried a car yet

Thats whats cool about it, all the pieces are about capturing reflection so he'll be using all types of different medium, the first piece was done using oils and a palette knife...

:dsm:

just curious if you guys ever come a bit more south?

and btw I'm new to the socal dsm crowd I suppose?

I owned a 91 back when i was 18-21 with more mods than i ever needed ( retarded with money and did every thing twice like a typical first time dsmer eh? )

I just bought the 92 tsi in the LA forums and I happen to know Kris from work.

ok well I suppose that is ok for a small introduction

That's some skill. I always hated working with oils when I had an art class

hey golfer is your friend Spencer from iCarly?

LOL

Yeah I saw a couple of episodes...:|

They used to meet at Dave & Busters down in SD but they got kicked out :p

Welcome :thumb:

Lol, Chris from work, not the all knowing Kris...

Hey Corey, wouldn't your car pass smog anyways running E85? im pretty sure you would not have a lot of issues.

As for the ECU, not looking for one right this second, still trying to convince the wife in letting me get Link, but will certainly be more then willing to do a swap with someone for it. Certainly been wanting to get it done for a while...

As far as top speed, im running Y rated tires now i believe... so im pretty sure the tires will handle more then my car can put out

BTW Augustin, I noticed that my rear window doesnt shake at all when windows are up, and shakes a tiny bit while the windows are down prob due to pressure... If you need top work done, let me know, i will get you the number to the guy i went to

Hey Corey, what were the last set of wheels you had, the black ones you were sporting? where are they now? (just a broke curious guy)

I found that it's not actually the window making noise, it's where the top is attached by the trunk...my girl is starting to sag:cry:
