ANY Big power with MAFT blow though

A bit OT, but what is the difference between a blowthrough and drawthrough setup?

I haven't been able to find this info ANYWHERE.

I have heard people having problems with this, I cannot see why, but I have heard this more than a few times, this is why I ask.

yes, this makes sense the way you worded it last time made it very confusing. Anyway according to hal the new version can suport both ecu's, so find out if it does and if not just swap the plug.

draw through = maf before turbo(you are drawing air in through the maf)
blow through = maf after the turbo(you are blowing air through the maf.)

You have 2 choices:

Hook the 1g MAF plug back up, and run a 1g MAFT, set up for a 1g MAF.

OR

Keep the 2g MAF plug, run a 2g MAFT, and set it up for a 1g MAF.

The 2g and 1g MAFT have the same chip, and you just select the different MAF curves through the switches on the front. You want to run it in 1g mode regardless, so the 1g/2g versions are simply to differentiate the plug style.

you cannot run the stock maf in a blow through configuration, it was not ment to read in a speed density matter. It reads airlfow by measuring the amount of vortex's created by air being sucked in through the filter(simple way of putting it) there is no way to run the stock maf in a blow through on the stock ecu or without modifying the maf in some way.
 
Do you even know what speed density means? Doesn't sound like it.

Sounds like it could work, as the previous poster mentioned somebody doing this. The density of the air may affect the creation of the karmen vortexes though, and also the MAF will give the computer funny readings for the barometric pressure. All in all its possible, but the only benefit would be the reduction of boost leaks causing problems. Not worth it overall I'd say.
 
I made 482whp with the 3" MAFT with a blow through setup. I used only the translator to tune and got it real close. Check out my dyno in my gallery.

Best reason for blow through is to get rid of tuning issues if you have leaks. You need to fix the leaks, but at least your ECU see's what is really going into the combustion chamber in the meantime. Unless you have a leak at the TB elbow or shaft seals, then it still will cause rich conditions. Also it's great when a intercooler pipe blows and you can still drive NA, no more pulling over on the side of the road.

On a side note, I can not believe you made that much power on that double pass stocker monster intercooler, it must have added some lag! Judging by you dyno chart, it looks like you hit full boost @ 5000rpms or a little above.

I actually had the spearco in the newer photos when I dynoed. But yes, that turbo/ported head and SMIM was screaming lag. 5000-9000rpm is plenty of a power range though.
 
No, the spool up was the same with both cores. The actual square inches inside the spearco was greater (thicker, 3.5") and it gave me more room to play with intercooler piping, I needed to redo the piping for the MAFT. All around it was a good idea as I made money by selling the old setup with pipes and bought the new setup with larger piping and room to play for less. :)
