hey everyone, and particularly people that have put on a ported exhaust mani not in conjunction with other new mods- my engine setup is as follows--

ported fpbigt28 at 18psi, rewired fuel pump, hard uicp/type s, injen intake, ported o2 housing, 3" turboback

knowing that, what, if any gain would i see with a ported 2g exhaust mani? dsmlink and big injectors etc are coming soon but since the rest of my exhaust system is open im wondering if i should do the manifold first. what sort of gains did you guys see from a ported mani?

thanks!!

thanks oldman, is spool time the only thing you got out of it or did it do anything for your overall power? i havent seen too much info about ported manifolds.. thinking about buying one and a die grinder to see what happens

I ported my 2G manifold and noticed a slight decrease in spool up time.

I just finished porting an EVO3 manifold, I'll find out how it works once I install it.

I ported turbo, manni and o2 all at the same time and it felt good. Better flow and spool. Why are you buying a new one if you alredy have one. Just take it to a local DSM shop and they will port it for $50. $50 for faster spooling, go for it.

ams is about the closest thing to a local shop that i have, and my car is my dd so i have to avoid downtime. it wouldnt be hard to sell my stock mani if i buy a new ported one and the avoidance of downtime is worth it for me. im sure i could port it myself but i cant afford to take the risk of ruining it somehow and then being without a car for a week.. no car=no job=me not able to buy more parts.. f that :)

I also have a ported FPbigT28 with a stoock manifold. I am upgrading to a SBR ported manifold. I will let you know what the results are. It will be going on next weekend.
