I just got a 96 talon tsi awd. The car does have the CEL light on. I took it to autozone and they said it threw a code for a random missfire and also something wrong with the injectors. I just added some fuel injector cleaner to the tank so maybe the light will go away. Also the car anti lock light comes on. When u first start the car the light is not on. But when u start moving then the light turns on. The car also vibrates a lot under 2k rpm. There is also a weird smell when u really get the turbo going. I dont know if that is natural i have never owned a turbo car before but im already in love with my talon! I owned a 99 gs and the talon blows it out of the water! I just redid the headliner. It was m first time ever doing one and it turned out great! I learned everything off of youtube. I was wondering if you guys could give me some help in the issues that i have. :thumb: :rocks: :hellyeah:  :hmm:

First the cel code, check your plugs and wires and make sure they are firing correctly. Fuel injector cleaner was a good step.
Second your anti lock light is coming on because something isn't working with your anti lock system. Click this to get your diagnosis http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...-reading-2g-abs-diagnostic-trouble-codes.html
Third, your vibration could be because you have prothane motor mounts or even solid mounts, check these. These cars are also pretty old so it might just be age and is making some noise I know my gsx rattles a lot at certain rpm.
Fourth, as for the smell I can't help you without a better description. "Smell" isn't specific enough to help you. Is it burning oil? Burning electrical? Etc....
Hope this helps and congrats on picking up your new car.
