hey who needs an antenna for reception...just get a big ass wing like all the other ricers and hook your radio up to that....not only will it make ur car FASTER but youll pick up radio stations from other countries and stuff

I used to have a 3g and it didn't have an external antenna. It always got good reception wherever it was. Anyone know where the 3g antenna's at? If its possible you might be able to get one off a 3g or do something similar. Also the 3g had map lights on the rearview mirror. I really liked having the lights there and thought of getting one at a salvage yard. You'd have to wire it of course but might be a cool mod for not alot of money.

Yeah my friend has a 2000 civic and his car doesnt have a external antenna either.He said they come stock with the antenna being part of the rear window or something

on my old accord...94....it had the antenna integrated into the top of the back window...that was nice.

any of you who have already shaved the antenna have decent pics of it? id like to see how it looks before i do it myself....sounds like a pretty cheap way to make the car look sharper than it already is..

Here is the best pic I have with the shaved antenna. In the top middle of the back window you can see a small thing mounted to the window. That is my hidden antenna.

OK Took power antenna off and filled in the hole. Went to an audio store and got one of those antennas that run up along the inside of the window. Now I hooked it into the the radio and it has a good ground but the stations are still fuzzy. Please help with this problem.

the reason why antennas are they way they are, is so they can "grab" the frequencies out of the air. if you have a smaller antenna or one closer to the ground, in all likelyness its not going to get as good of a signal as a normal antenna. you could go to radioshack and get a signal booster which will run inline with the antenna wire. i believe they make such a device, (its been awhile since ive been to a radio shack).

What kind of hidden antenna do you have? Is it a powereed hidden antenna? If not you can buy an antenna booster that will bring the radio reception to stock levels. Were is the antenna mounted?

ok I just did some research on this and came up with nothing. my friend has the type of "antenna" that is two little lines that run down the windshield(It is on his 1983 Toyota Celica Supra) anyways, i was wondering if there was a way to convert to this type, and how this "antenna" works. Like i said I searched but couldn't find much usefull information. Any info would be helpful

i'm not sure about that kind of antenna, but Autoloc sells a hidden antenna that mounts up on the back window. i just shaved my antenna and that is the antenna i am going to get. i know there were some people that had them on here. i dont listen to the radio all that much anyways so i am in no hurry.

the 82-86 supra's came w/ the windshield antenna i believe it is fitted into the glass so i think an antenna like thta is out of the question it was a factory option. you could get one of the little ones that are angled back, just put it where the rear window squirter is now. later

well i didnt shave it myself, the body shop welded a piece of metal underneath and then filled the hole in. here is the closest pic i have of where the antenna was.
