Antenna help

Hey guys, all of a sudden my antenna stopped working(power). The motor grinds, but the antenna doesnt go down without some "help" by me. I took the whole assembly apart today, and found this. The "cable" that attaches to the mast is broken in two, but thats what im trying to figure out, if it really is broken or supposed to be that way. Take a look and tell me what you think

Yes, it really is broken and needs to be replaced. Some antennas you can only replace the nylon cable, on others you have to replace the mast with the cable. $15 maybe.
