Hey whats up, about a month or so ago, i bought this 1997 Eclipse Gs-T. I know it is FWD, but i got a smoking deal on it. 78K on the odometer. The exterior mods are: Diablo Racing 18 inch rims, tokico 1.5" suspension package, slightly tinted windows, and removed ALL rear emblems. Oh, and that cute lil parking ticket compliments of my school's rent-a-cop! he pisses me off! anyways, it is really dirty because it has been snowing and sleeting like mad here in St. Louis!
tell me what you think. The exterior work is 100% finished. The engine is what i need to concentrate on now. I have some work done, but i am no where near finished. Check my profile to see the mods.

I agree ^

Also, it sucks that you live in a state that requires a front tag.. thats the gayest thing since mikel jackson..

The car would look 100x better without it, but what can you do.

i was thinking about getting that tokico HP package (shocks&springs) hows it feel compared to stock? how bad to your scrap over stock? did you need a camber kit? (front? rear? ) etc. thanks man.

yeah, it does suck having the front plate on! i know it would look much better, i think i am going to mount it in the front windshield inside the car, and just see if i get in trouble with it. even if i do, i will just plead ignorance:thumb: .
and about the front cover next to the fog light. the right side one is removed so the intercooler will get more air. if i removed the passenger one, will it cool my brakes or anything better, or is it soley for cosmetic purposes?

and the suspension is very nice. it rides a bit stiffer than stock, but i like it like that. and the handling has improved also. The drop is a bit lower than 1.5in i think though. i havent scraped on anything yet, but i am also very careful about it. but for the money i dont think there is a better deal, because you dont have any questions about whether or not the springs are to low for the shocks and what will blow if i do this and bla bla bla. the springs are made specifically for those shocks. and for the 365 shipped that i paid for the package brand new, you cant beat it! camber though, i am not sure. because i havent had them on long enough to see if they eat up tires. but it doesnt look hella ghetto. i think i will be ok. any more comments or questions.

thanks for the compliments

looks sweet. I like green 2gs. I rarely see them around.:thumb:

thanks guys, at first i wasnt a fan of the green, but it has really grown on me. the more i notice that green ones are rarer, the more i liek it! thanks for the compliments

Unbolt it, and keep it under the seat. Toss it in the front windshield when you park anywhere in public. Completely legal most states...just has to be visible from the front.

I thought that piece was in there to direct airflow directly to the SMIC. How is it helpful to remove it? There isnt anything to guide the are anymore. Correct me if Im wrong cause I wanted to remove it as well but to me it serves a purpose.

well that cover on the passenger side is over teh intercooler. if the cover is there the intercooler doesnt get very much air at all. but when you remove it, you can acutally see the intercooler and it would be obvious that it doesnt hinder performance. Because right now that cover is there to keep shit from hitting the intercooler, but lets be real. I will take a close-up picture of it and post it when i can. take it easy!

here are the pics of the cover removed and the SMIC you wanted to see.

Oh, well I must have been thinking it was something else cause that is exactly the way mine looks. If you notice in the pic Im talking about that dark plastic piece that is noticable right in front of the SMIC. Sorry bout the mix-up, and I hope you didn't take it offensive I was actually asking for some advice cause I was thinking of removing that piece when I cleaned my SMIC. Thanks!:dsm:

oh, its cool man. i am happy to help you out. i might have a few questions about IC cleaning too. but no i am not offended at all, that is what these forums are for, so we can hel peachother out. take it easy!

Woa! Nice car! At first glance I thought it was mine with the MO front plate :D Except I'm a 99 and n/t :shhh:
