1990 awd with rewired supra pump

on the connector side of the wiring ( towards mpi relay) the SOLID BLACK wire has 12v when the key is turned towards the ignition side.

Shouldn't it be the BLACK/WITH WHITE STRIPE wire that has 12v with ign on?

So of course the pump test connection does not work( it seems to spark when I jump a wire to the positive battery terminal) and I see no voltage coming out of pin 3(mpi relay) when ignition is turned on.

any help will be appreciated. thanks.

Yes the stock fuel pump connector black/white should get +12V with ignition on via the fuel pump relay pin 2 black/white (when relay is activated). Relay pin 3 (also black/white) should be +12V ignition switch. So the relay just connects pin 3 to pin 2. The black wire is supposed to connect to ground. Sounds like the wiring is messed up. Connecting +12V to the black wire should have been a complete short. This is all for the stock wiring. Maybe someone changed everything for the Supra pump?
