Another exhaust manifold thread

For an equal length manifold that's pretty damn cheap. I would like to know what this "high quality SS alloy" is. If it's not schedule 10 or 40 then its not bullet proof LOL.

What's the need for the 2 extra flanges anyway?

You should look into the Forced Performance Race Manifold instead.

it looks like a dnp knock off.not a bad price.buy it and let us know how it works out.

Well. the guy has 100% feedback but even still, there's no other pics of the manifold. You can't see inside the flange to see if it necks down really tight or not (I've seen a few of these ebay manifolds that were a joke) and you can't see the quality of the welds. I know the guy has 100% feedback, but I wonder how many of those people held out on leaving feedback so that they could try out their products for awhile. Might fall apart on ya 6 months down the line. Anyway, if it were me, I'd just go with the FP manifold personally for any dsm turbine housings and have no worries.

Do not waste your money on a cheap eBay manifold, it is guaranteed to crack as those runners are very thin. A good tubular manifold costs around $1K and there is a reason for it, forged SS is expensive plus most companies offer lifetime warranty.

For DSM style turbo an EVO3 manifold is the best choice, you can buy it used for about $100, port the collector steps on manifold and turbo for better flow and it will be as good as FP dsm manifold, plus you will retain the stock heat shield.

Yea, like I said I will more than likely end up with a ported 2g or an evo 3 manifold. I just thought it looked better than most on ebay.

eBay is still eBay regardless of badges put on their products. If it seems good to you then check it out and post up a review on it :thumb:

$550 new. I consider it a poorly laid out design. 7cm turbo flange. My FP BigT28 is 8cm so when bolted together it abruptly go from 7cm to the larger 8cm of the turbo. That can't be great for flow. And you can't port it out bigger because there's no material there to be able to port it larger. Plus the collector is abrupt and I don't beleive it flows all that smoothly. It looks nice but that's about it. Buy a cheap copy of a poor design? I don't think so. If you're going with a stock mitsu flange turbo buy a FP exhaust manifold. It's what I would do if I had it to do again. Hands down the FP is a better design.

I've had 2 ebay manifolds the first one was very poorly built it cracked in about a year and the flange came warped. The manifold I have now looks a lot better and the runners and welds are a lot thicker its holding up my Hx35 very well.

Here is another eBay manifold for comparison taken from http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/381256-bought-cxracing-header-ebay-does-not-fit.html and originally posted by Momar.

I did just now contact the seller with this

"What grade material is the "high quality SS"? Can you take pictures of the runner inlets and the collector from the bottom flange.

What kind of welder was used and were the welds back purged?

Thanks
Scott"

I'll post up when and IF I hear anything.
