Langley,
how often do the computers fail in our cars? Do aftermarket tuners like the Apex'i AFC affect the computer in negative ways? Has anyone fried there ECU by using a tuning device?

Unfortunatly, just about all of them will over time because of a poor choice in capacitor selection back when the ECUs were designed. They also have problems because the engineers didn't decide to add protection from shorted outputs and things like the ISC sometimes die shorted.

A correctly installed SAFC shouldn't impact the ECU in a negative way. There is still some question about doing the "blue wire mod" for reading the o2 sensor casuing the O2 output to read lower due to circuit loading.

I sure a few people have from improper installs.
