I put this on the link forums but haven't gotten much help, I figured I ask here.
Ok I picked up some -8 fuel line today along with an inline 255, fuel filter and an aem fuel rail. Now I already have a 255 in tank that is connected to stock fuel lines. I've been looking for a few hours at different setups people use, and I've determined that I'm going to use a bulkhead fitting. Now my question is, for running a line from the intank 255 to the bulkhead fitting. I can do the fitting to a -8 coupler to a -8 male to barb. Then use a rubber fuel line from the pump to the barb fitting.
The question lies here, what is the size of the output on the 255? The AN to barb fitting uses a 1/2 inch hose. Would that be to big to fit? I don't want to order the wrong part because these fittings aren't cheap.

Get a fitting with a 3/8" barb and use 3/8" high pressure fuel injection hose. Make sure you use fuel injection hose clamps too. Not worm clamps. Also, think about using a -6 bulkhead, then if you MUST have -8 feed line, get a -6AN to -8AN adapter coming off the top of the bulkhead, to accomodate your -8 feed line. -6AN right off the pump isn't gonna hurt anything.

Ok that sounds like a pretty good idea. I'm only using -8 because I picked it up for very cheap.
The 3/8 hose will slip onto the fuel pump snugly correct?

Also since I can't find a female to barbed fitting, can I just use a pushlock fitting and put a clamp on it?

The 3/8" hose will slide over the pump nipple with little effort. Spend the $2 and buy fuel injection hose clamps at the auto part store. You can use the pushlock fitting, or you can get a coupler to join the bulkhead and barb fitting.

Ya I've never used pushlock before so I didn't how effective the would work with fuel injection hose and clamps. Plus that will save me a few bucks buying one less fitting. I always build on a budget.

Alright well I ordered my parts. I also double checked to see what I had in the box of stuff I just picked up, and there was an extra -6 to -8 union and a -6 coupler, so that saved me a few bucks. Now I just got to wait for parts to come in and I'll have everything I need for my complete fuel setup.

I just have one more question, should I keep the stock return line or use the feed line as the return? I've seen people do both, they look like they're the same size, any difference?
