Im in the process of finishing up my 2g GSX project which I picked up as a rolling shell (with blown motor). During the build ive noticed a few things missing or broken.

The previous owner cut the fuel line coming off the pump. This line only goes for about 1.5 ft where it connects to another rubber line. The dealership wants $60 for this part, I know I can make one out of SS or regular nylon braided line for far cheaper then this. However I need to know what the size fitting I need to screw into the pump housing is. I know a few places sell kits to replace the stock rubber lines from tank up to the filter so I know its just a matter of locating this fitting. I dont really want to run all new lines for this car at this point, I just want to replace this section so that I can get the car running and tie up loose ends with it. Also what size line should I use -6?

Thanks for any help here

Yes. A -6 fits just fine.

Edit: You can't just run any old -6 hose to the hard line. On the pump end it is ok but, if you try to use a regular end on the hard line it will spray because the hard line will not seat right on an AN 37degree fitting. You'll see what I am talking about when you look at it. It is the same style fitting that goes to the fuel filter.

I just used 5/16"ID high pressure hydraulic hose, from the tank to the filter. Took the pump out, put in a new line because the old one was rotten, plumbed in a new flange like the factory one, made some fittings, and put in the new hose. I bought i think 18 feet of hydraulic line (correct me if im wrong about the length, this was back in June) for $3.25/ft (my friend works for a Komatsu shop, and sold me the line for what the shop paid) and about $20 in fittings. Works slick, and in any spot where i would see it would be rubbing, i put some rubber over it to protect it.

This fitting shown, just on a 2G car

Clarify here, so I can to the pump housing but not to any of the other spots? So I'd have to run it to the fire wall? Maybe for the time being a new line is the way to go ugh what a waste.

You can to the stock tube that the rubber line ran to but, it cannot have a swivel end on it. In other words it must be able to seal. Like a solid fitting.

Edit: It is not so hard to replace the entire line. Many have done it and it doesn't cost that much.

Thank you for your help... that was what I needed. Oh and yes I am and was well aware that the above pic was a 1G AWD car I just used the pic for the specific fitting needed.

thanks

Problem is I dont you need something other than the threads to seal off the fuel? The stock line fittling has a rubber seal to seal against the other line.

The threads are parallel, so they definitely do not do any sealing. I used an adapter from some metric thread size to 6an with a Viton o-ring of an appropriate size. Worked leak free for years. I found the part number on the DSMlink forums for that fitting.
