Okay, this may sound like a stupid question and I am sure that someone will call me stupid and whatever but I really don't care I am going to ask it anyways...would it make any sense to hook up like a front mounted intercooler to a car without a turbo and where the turbo would go into the intecooler just have a pipe running off to the side to a filter or something and then have the output run into the intake....does that make any sense or none whatsoever?

I thought about doing it the same way. thats the best cold air intake that you could use

FMIC's are built to have air pressurized into them , there is alot of pressure going into teh FMIC hence the reason they can be so big, in a non turbo car with only atmospheric pressure behind it a FMIC will most likely slow you down...

That would definently be pointless, but if you are going for the look of a intercooler w/o a turbo someone makes an intake that looks like an intercooler. Although to me this would be rice, to each his own...and who am i to judge, i have carbon fiber altezza's.

Ya a front mount wihtout a turbo would just slow you down. plus, if your willing to spend that much on an intercooler, why not just buy a turbo instead?

No, I wasn't actually going to do it...I was just curious as to if something like that would work and/or have a point to it. I just plan on going turbo....it isn't that expensive and it takes very little to beat the cars around here....people in the area seem to think that if you put a wing on your car it adds 100HP or something, they are all show...it is great. I am only looking in the area of 220HP at the crank or so, which is easily done with a turbo...

whoa wait... putting the wing on doesnt add 100hp??? OMG and to think i wasted all that money on the park bench... not to mention the stickers that i put on that are suppose to add 5hp each... haha im just playing i dont have a park bench, but ya i saw a thread quite a bit back about this same thing, and it definatly wont help, too much piping for the air to get through.

Well, that is exactly what I never understood....those really big wings that they make, the whole idea is to make the car light not heavy...and also it would only create drag because it isn't perfect...but of course I am sure that I am far off stretch here, but I can't say that I have ever seen a dsm that was modded by someone that wasn't mental that actually had one of those big wings on it...in fact, the only cars that I see with those on it are Civics!

haha well i saw a thing on tv that was talking about those wings and how it helped this car alot, but this was an autocross car and they said it helped in the turns or something. but yea i agree im not a big fan of the wings. but i would be careful about saying no DSMers have those wings. ive seen quite a few with those on there dsm's in there gallery. some look pretty good, others dont. in general im not a fan either but i think that they can look good. this civic thats around here actually looks pretty good with one. but i hate when those are sitting on crappy ass rusted out cars. there pretty funny.
