AMS GT35RL kit VS. FP3065

I've done some searching on here and i did not find any info on AMS's GT35RL full kit. ( http://www.automotosports.com/dsm_turbo.asp)

I'm just finishing up my 7-bolt (yes 7-bolt) .040 over 8.8-1 stroker
and i like the cars that AMS has been producing with the GT35R's

I guess i'm wondering if anyone has this kit and what they think of it

also What's your thoughts on this kit in comparison to using the FP3065 on the .040 stroker

Some info on the car; AEM ECU, Magnus, Ported head, stage 2 crowers, 1mm over valves and crower springs. This car is a full weight 2G...almost daily driven street car.

I just don't want to get a turbo too big that i really would not use it efficiently ...

The .040 isnt going to help spool the turbo that much. You need a 2.3 stroker or a 2.4 to see a decent drop in spool. I dont see how the gt35rl would spool before 4k on a 2.0l. I would guess that both of the turbos you wouldnt see full street boost till after 4300rpms. With the aem properly tuned both turbos should put out alot of power on pump gas but dont expect 50 trim spool. You migh want to take a look at the 3052 or a 3076 unless a little lag wont bother ya

You also expressed .040 over like it was really important so i didnt know. Theres alot of info on the evolutinm about 4g63s with gt35rs. My 2.4l is almost done and im going to be using a .82ar gt35r

hey just wanted to ket you know I went for a ride in a car with a ams gt35r. The evo was fast it pulled hard. It was a 2.0 and spool wasnt bad. The car made 509whp on pump. No joke either. It spun 1,2,3 hooked in forth and pulled hard. it had a good tuned and spool like my other friends 30r. good luck with the turbo setup

i have a 6 bolt 2.3 stroker w/ the FP3575 and the lag isnt bad at all.. comparable if not better then the 2.0 w/ a FP red. and i also run the built head w/ FPcam3's and 1mm oversize valves, and the magnus intake. no nitrous.
