I am wiring up a relay and switch to control my fan.
I have the wire from the toggle switch to pin 87.
I have the the fan positive to pin 85, and the fan ground to pin 86.
I have a fused wire from the pattery to pin 30.
I turn the switch on and it illuminates, but the fan does not click on.
any suggestions?

You need to have the fused power coming in on 85. Then take 86 and run that to your switch. Next take the other side of the switch which is left and run that to a ground. Now take another fused power wire to 30 and hook the fan positive to 87. Finally run the fan negative wire to ground and you should be good to go.
Good luck
