Am I rich or lean

I connected my aem uego yesterday. I've known for some time now that I've been running rich. My car smells like its spewing gas out of the exhaust and the fuel trims are above the roof. MMCD shows my FTRL as 139.8%, my FTRM at 130.4% and my FTRH at 139.8%. When I idle the car my uego usually reads around 17. Is this normal. It sounds extremely rich to me. At cruising I am usually around 14-15. When I hit boost it drops to around 10.

Is a lower number lean or rich? It doesn't make sense that the lights would go red when its rich. Rich wont blow a car up, lean will. I'd appreciate it if anyone could help out. I took the combs out of my stock 1g maf. Still trying to find a 2g maf or possibly a GM. I really don't want to pay $200 for maf-t. That money could go to more beneficial things like new injectors or fuel pump.

That explains why my fuel curves are maxed out. And I guess it also makes sense why my car idles rough. It's hitting fuel cut at idle. Any ideas what could be causing this? I'm guessing it could have something to do with my combs missing in my maf and the valve cover breather and egr being disconnected from my intake. Any way to fix this? Will I have to edit my eprom bin to do this? I have all the software I need to flash my eprom. Just don't know how. LOL. Maybe I should go dsmlink.

I also have noticed my vaccum is around 20 to 22 on my boost gauge during idle/deceleration. Could I have a vaccum leak?

FWIW -- I spent time researching the 1G MAF mod and wasn't able to find any indication of it providing a reliable upgrade. It seemed as though pretty much everybody that tried it had AFR troubles. My conclusion was to either be satisfied with the 1G MAF in OE condition, or else convert to the 2G, which also requires an injector upgrade and probably an SAFC as well. So, all I can say is good luck -- hope you can make it work :)!

If your plenum vacuum hits the 20 to 22 in-Hg level when the throttle is released, that is perfectly reasonable.

Thanks for the information. I'll probably look around ebay and the junk yards for a 2g maf. I've been planning on upgrading my injectors for a while now. Seems like a good time now. I've rewired the fuel pump so I believe I can leave the stock pump in with 550s for now. I'm not looking forward to changing the pump. Unfortunately, the 1g pump is located under the car. The bolts are all rusted. I've been doing weekly coats of PB Blaster preparing for the future upgrade. Hopefully, I don't round off or break any screws.

Don't worry you will. I ended up getting all new hardware for my pump install. That included the bolts for the fuel level reader as well. I had the tank out though and was cleaning it also doing a line upgrade so it wasn't that bad.

That sucks. In my imaginary land I always imagine things taking no time at all to do. LOL. Then they take hours. Gotta love are cars. Not always the easiest to work on, but its so satisfying after you get them working like they should.
