I have a question, lets say my ignition was bad, and past 4000 rpm it couldnt keep up, so it wsa giving little spark, now thers alot of unburnt fuel, would that be a lean condition or a rich condition?

Basically is running rich considerd too much burnt fuel? Or just too much fuel in general, burnt or unburnt?
 
The rich/lean concept originates in the intake manifold, where the injectors spray fuel and the air/fuel ratio is established. If more fuel is injected than needed, you have a rich condition. If it's the other way around, it's lean. And, of course, if it's in the middle, you've reached, to some extent, the stoichiometric point.
 
If not all the fuel is being burned then it is considered a rich condition because of the fact that there is to much fuel to burn. if you wernt getting enough spark and it wasnt burning all the fuel then it will be rich because the the air and the fuel are a mix and if there is fuel left over then that means there is more fuel then air.
