Hi guys, recently i have got an aluminum universal overflow tank for cheap €, a good chance to trash my current Ghettorade bottle...
Since I can't figure out how to pipe it (because of too many ports) there's some sort of diagram or anything, dam related?
I can weld aluminum, so any modification it is not a problem for me… :thumb: IE i will be adding a window for level check

Any help will be glad! :)

here are the pics

That's not an overflow bottle. That's a surge/header tank.

I have a hookup diagram here:

which is posted on my thread about installing one similar to this from Greddy: http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/greddy-coolant-breather-tank.398193

Basically you hook up the pressure bleed port as a drain to an actual overflow tank. That middle port (which I believe really should be higher, not sure why it's mid-way on the tank) should connect to a high point of your cooling system on the hot side of your radiator. You could connect it at the engine outlet gooseneck, or perhaps closer to the radiator. The large lower port should connect on the cool side of the radiator. I think it needs to be as close to the water pump inlet as possible within reason. On my car it's connected on the radiator near its outlet as running a coolant line across the engine towards the water pump with all that is in the way wasn't going to happen.

A problem with using this is that you'll need to disable the oem pressure cap's bleed capability. Do this by either removing that hole entirely, or adding a dummy cap (Greddy sells them, but when getting them separate I forget if you need a type-s or type-n). The latter is ideal because you then maintain a fill point for the coolant, otherwise you're going to hate life trying to fill it through this header tank.

Here's a picture of mine installed, also from the aformentioned thread:

Thanks Tsiawd666!
It's a bit too complicate that way... What if I simply use it as a canister?
I can remove all the unnecessary ports plugging them out (welding of course)...
But, it is better to get coolant from the bottom or the top (like OEM does) of that "canister"? Using IE top "pressure cap" as a simple cap...

Maybe you could put a dummy cap up top, connected that bleed line to the drain line, and then connect the bottom port to the oem bleed line from the goose neck. You'd cap off that middle port. I think that would work.

Btw, where in Italy are you? I was over there in October for my honeymoon. Would have really been awesome and unexpected to see an Eclipse driving around :D

Something like that?

This cap is way bigger than the greddy sized radiator cap...:/
And probably a pita to find here...LOL

I'm from the North-East of italy, Veneto - Treviso :p
Dsm's are really rare cars here...hehe

The bottom would go to the little port next to the oem radiator cap. Otherwise good.

Did they sell DSMs there at some point or did you find it from some other location in Europe? How on earth do you get parts?

Great! I can't wait to do that!

Long story short, talking of 2nd gen, in Italy Mitsu sold only the GS trim, powered by a 150hp 4g63 N/A 7bolt (not the same as Gs 1g's) and avaiable only in pre-restyling...
Mine is an hybrid, because i bought a Gs and then swapped into a Gs-t changing motor, wirings and ecu...all the other parts are the same :p

I get parts from US, the only possible choice... Taking in mind that every part costs me twice the price due to shipping costs...damn :/
