Should a ### person learn to "accept" people bashing him just cause people don't approve of it? NO. So why should people who have altezza's accept it. People are free to their own opinion. But keeping in mind that it's just opinion and not law. I could see if people said "i don't like altezza's" ok fine. But as soon as people see an altezza they act like the world is over. And just to let you know...................They have been gone for some time now.

Can a mod please lock this thread? It's gotten way out of hand, went from a guy asking for pictures to yet another flame-war. Some of you guys bashing altezzas are worse than real ricers with the kind of mentality you're displaying.

Why not just start a special "rice" forum for these non-tuners to hang out at by themselves...let them fester in their body graphics, aluminum wings, altezzas, and neons. Where the vocabulary can include "tyte", "shiznit", "trick", and "shweet". This is quite the growing trend at DSMtuners.com. It would atleast keep them from making the more serious members sick to their stomach.


Why you people cry over getting made fun of on here, I dont know. I would think you would be use to it from when you go out in the public...

Lol!!!!! you crack me up!!!!! I don't know where you are from or what type people you know but i guarantee you and everyone else that "you" don't make fun of people in public. yes you may say something to your friend but you don't walk up to them and say "you car is ugly, you are a ricer, you are ###, your altezza's......" It only happens on the internet cause you would get laid out for doin that to someone's face.
Also, how would you know what the real "tuners" feel. You are far from one. WTF all you have is "odds and ends". You got Hubcaps and 2 air fresheners and consider yourself a real tuner. Where is your car at? why no pic? are you ashamed? All the people that you consider rice as of this moment are above you. And now you took it as far as if people use certain words they are ricers?? Get real. I would suggest you establish yourself a little better before you come on this site and expect to mean something to anybody.

Explain to me how having altezza's on my car makes me a non-tuner???

I have many more performance mods than I do cosmetic mods. Even if I didn't just because someone chooses to add cosmetic things to their car first doesn't mean that they are not planning on doing major engine work as well.

Tom Sawyer and Eclipse4x4 have altezza's are they non-tuners? I think we have already established that they are not "non-tuners".

I think you have been the only one using words like "tyte", "shiznit", "trick" and shweet" so I guess you would belong in that rice forum you proposed.

When a society (DSMtuners) decides that a certain trait is not only weak but dangerous to the good of the whole (Altezza owners and their desire to be respected as tuners), the society begins to alienate the individuals with the weak/dangerous trait. That is how society works. We don't like rice, and the majority has spoken, so deal wit it.

So you don't respect Tom Sawyer or Eclipse4x4 as tuners?

Until this website has a statement on it saying that Altezzas are a "weak/dangerous trait" I don't believe the "society" has decided anything. A few people have decided that they don't like them and need to bash everyone that has them.

What do you consider a respectable amount of speed? Any GST/GSX with an intake, full exhaust, and a boost controller will have a respecatble amount of speed. Unless you are considering a respecatble amount of speed to be 12's I believe you will find many people with altezza's that have a "respectable amount of speed".


There is NO RULE or LAW that states Altezza's = Ricer, yes many people with altezza's are "ricers" but there are also many people who have them that are not "ricers". In the end if someone likes them or not is their own opinion and NOBODY has the right to try to force that person to change their opinion.

I am a tuner. This is how I know I am a tuner: I felt bad for buying wheels before exhaust for my car (needed to, bent 3 of the stock 16's). A tuner is interested only in performance. Physical appeal is of no consequence to a tuner. We are the majority, Ludachris has stated repeatedly that this is a TUNING site, and rice is any non-performance mod that adds to aesthetics alone. Those of us that take the time to express our distaste with BS mods are rapidly in the minority, but only due to the loss of interest in shunning the rapidly growing minority of NON-TUNING individuals. Do what you want, but accept criticism as well as praise when asking for opinions.

I would think that is the definition of a "Racer" not a "Tuner" in most people's opinion. The defintion of what rice is has been argued many times. I don't really agree with the defintion you put forth but I am not going to change your mind and you are not going to change mind.

If this is a TUNING (by your definition) only site then why is there even a Non-Perfromance Mods section of the site?

I am more than willing to accept criticism, actually this whole thing had nothing to do with me being criticized because nobody said anything to me about my CF altezzas.

The point that I have been trying to get across is that there is a differnce between critisism and bashing someone. It seems as though if someone doesn't like what another person does to their car on this site they have to be immature about it and make fun of them rather than just stating that they don't like it.

Whether you see it as crying or not, I believe that the statements in this thread against altezza's have been nothing but immature and sarcastic. If people want it to be know that they don't like altezza's then fine but do it in a mature manner. If you were on the street or at a show you wouldn't walk up to someone who has altezza's and say "Hey we are very similar. U want to see every altezza on a dsm And I wanna see every altezza on every car destroyed in a massive fire.....
wow we think just alike" or "Your car is f*cking ugly". I know you didn't say those things specifically but those kind of things were said. I don't sit here and tell you that your car is f*cking ugly because it is a 1st gen and is missing a fog light.

I just think it is sad that on a forum people can't show the same respect they would if they were in person and someone was asking the question.

Like I said, I didn't go on my rant in this thread over myself being critisized. I went on it because it is annoying to constantly read things like "Yeeeahh boy-ee...i'm finna drop dem hella phat tezza's in ma honey wagon and pimp dat shiznit fo sure. No, Tuning is different than racing. Racing involves a car modified beyond the capacity of a daily-driver. Tuning takes a normal car and develops the highest amount of performance with what you have. Non-performance mods are designed to help tuuners with items such as carpet removal/replacement, headlight adjustment/replacement, shifter instals, etc. Basically, it has become a haven for those afraid to drive. It should be a place to find info on the less agressive mods.

Well like I said there are many loosely defined definitions of what a Tuner is and it is open to different interpretations but it really doesn't matter anyway.

I'm not sure who is afraid to drive but I know I am not. I can understand where you are coming from with the whole we don't need an altezza thread every week but then it should just be locked and they should be refered to other threads or the gallery.

I personally don't understand why so many people ask questions about altezza's either. I mean there are plently of pictures out there of Eclipse's with Altezzas. But the difference is that I still try to help the person asking the question rather than bashing them for asking it. In this instance I had a picture readily available to post so I did, if I didn't I would have referred the person to search for it.

#1)How do you know if I am fast or not? What do you consider slow? I have many more performance mods than I do cosmetic mods. I don't have a time slip to post because I haven't went to the track recently but my car is not slow. It may be slow compared to yours because I didn't upgrade my turbo yet but it is not slow in general.

#2) Once again I don't give a shit about altezza's. Saying you like or don't like altezza's was never my problem in this thread. It is personal choice and is irrelevent to the point I am trying to get across.

#3) What the hell is HaWt ShIeT? I find it funny that the people that are bitching and moaning about altezza's being rice are the only ones acting like little kids in this thread and the only ones using the ghetto typing that they claim to hate so much.
