Hey everyone, I started up my car after about 2 weeks and it started up fine. I was out cleaning up the snow and my friend in the car was laying the music system really really loud (around 700 RMS). When I went back I saw a voltage drop on the cap and it kept going down n down. I turned off all the electricals (stero, fan, lights). I had to drive the car to my new apt ... but the voltage kept dropping. I had the battery replaced about a year ago and it seems to be ok ... but the alternator isn't charing it.
I searched to forum and I'm going to get them both tested. But just in case, if I do need an alternator, how many amps should I get? I guess the stock is about 75 amps.
my lights do dim a bit when I play the music really loud or when the bass hits hard. What do you guys think of the following High Output Alternator:
