My alternator just went and i'm having crazy trouble trying to get it out because there is so little room to get to it. is there any easier way or shortcut or something to getting it out? thanks

Pull the drivers side fan off. Only 3 bolts, 1 plug in. That will give you plenty of room. I found pulling the lower bolt out by using a small crowbar worked the easiest. Make sure you're holding on to the alternator.

You also have to remove the splash guard from the drivers side wheel well. Fairly simple operation.

Yeah, i tried going from under but still had trouble. Do you mean the passanger side? my alternator is on the passanger side of the engine.

I'm not familiar with the 2g NT cars but if it's anything like the Saturn I had (similar location), you might have to take the passenger wheel and splash guard off to gain easier access. It worked on the Saturn and the alt was on the back of the block, passenger side. Total PITA but that was the only problem I EVER had with that car, well that and it was slow. :D

Thanks for the help. I got it today, was deff a pain to get to but taking the splash guard out was deff the thing i needed to do, also had to take out the mounting bracket that was holding it up too to get the thing out. Thanks.
