Alpine Headunit HELP !!

I just hooked up my Alpine ixa-w404 headunit. There is a saftey feature. the the only way I can watch videos by tapping into the parking brake wire and pressing the brake twice. I wached a video on YouTube and the guy said something about a "PAC tr-7" not really sure if that's it. But anyway the whole point of that is the bypass the saftey feature... If anyone know that the exact name of the modular is it would really help me alot ...

This one... When I installed mine I used a different box but this one looks a lot nicer than mine(smaller).

Yes!!! Lmao that's exactly what I needed... But can I wire up a little toggle switch for now ?

I don't know how to wire up the switches. It was easier for me to just buy the box instead of fumbling with switches. Try this... Let me google that for you

Switches would be a PITA, but they would be significantly cheaper. You'll have to perform the bypass every time you start the car OR want to use the video features.

Wire one side of one switch to ground, and the other to the hand brake input to the radio. Wire the other switch to your foot brake input on the radio and the other side to +12V.

On my Alpine 505 I went the PAC tr-7 route, it is MUCH more convenient especially since there are some things in the options/settings that you won't be able to access without performing the bypass procedure. If you decide to go the PAC tr-7 route, remember that it comes pre-programed to perform the Alpine bypass, so just hook up the wires the way they tell you to, and don't mess with the programing!
