Almost Play Time!

Well guys, I haven't been on much lately. I have been spending every spare minute I have on the car. The goal is to have this beast drivable in time for the Buschur sport compact nationals at the end of the month. Heres a few pics to give you an Idea of whats going on...

First things first I got the map oil cooler setup installed

Next on the list I installed my mini fuelab afpr, aem fuel rail, and fuel pressure gauge.

I know the bend in the line is tight, but I assure you it is not kinked and will be just fine

I got the mvs and 02 setup installed. Actually putting the wg in the 02 is a MAJOR pain in the ass with the recirculating setup. It fits very tight, but we got it in...

The fuel pump, -6 feed line, gas tank, has all been installed. Map forgot the rail adapter for the feed side so I havent been able to hook the fuel feed up yet. I had to fight with them for 2 weeks to get them to send me a new rail adapter, and they ended up sending me the wrong one after all of that so I am just going to order a new one from extreme psi with my injectors. Im sick of dealing with map over it.

It was time to order an exhaust so I started calling around. The thermal sucks, the apexi is over priced and not stainless so that left the megan. Well, megan is completely out of stock for the 1g awd exhausts til the end of may. I couldn't wait that long so I took matters into my own hands.

I ordered:
3 4ft 3" sections of stainless pipe
Punishment downpipe
02 bung
4 V-band flanges
2 V-band Clamps
1 Magnaflow muffler
5 vibrant stainless hangers
And made a trip to lowes for a new dewalt chop Saw

I put the 02 bung and vband on the downpipe, bolted it up, and started building from there. It is all finished other than welding up the last hanger. Here is what the finished product ended up looking like:

I tig welded everything myself. Made all the bends with pie cuts. I would have bought mandrel bends but it didn't seem worth the cost for the few bends I needed. I think it turned out great for my first attempt ever doing something like this.

I also completely rebuilt the driveshaft with all OEM parts and installed my tcase.

I hope to have more pics and updates for you guys soon. It is getting pretty close to play time with this thing and I am really stoked to drive it. Let me know what you think!

I love seeing your blogs! Props for taking on the exhaust fabrication yourself! I just bought a welder so I can start doing things like that too!

What brand o2 housing are you using? It looks like you'll still have plenty of room for a slim fan, right? What about the alternator? Or did you relocate it?

Thanks Man! I am running the MAP Recirculated02 housing with the Tial MVS. The 02 housing fits perfect. A lot better than some of the other ones ive seen haha. I still have to get an alternator but I am not going to relocate it. You don't even have to bend the dipstick tube with that housing
