ok so befor i built my engine, i had a problem with oil pressure. i would have good oil pressure on a cold start but once the engine got completly warmed up my oil pressure would drop to 1 or 2 psi sometimes zero, i ended up spinning a rod bearing so i did a rebuild. and after the rebuild it does the same exact thing !! i know its not the gauge (i have tried 3 differnt ones) and i also removed the balance shafts when i did the rebuild, this should have brought the oil pressure up alot. but like i said once its fully warmed up i lose almost all oil pressure at idle, it takes maybe 2 miles of driving for this to happen. it has new everything including oil pump, oil pickup tube, oil pan, crankshaft, all bearings, rods, pistons. so i dont understand at all why im still having this problem. the engine only has about 25 to 30 miles on it, (iv only drove it maybe 3 times) its got me complety lost, only thing i can think of is a cracked block internaly, or the oil releif valve in the oil filter housing is stuck open. idk but im scared to drive. please help !!!!

Was there a big gap inbetween the gears and the oil pump housing? Its either the housing or the spring is worn out, Those are really the only things they can be, but stop driving it till you figure it out or your gonna blow that motor too.

What were the bearing clearances before you installed them? Ive heard of the relief valve getting stuck closed but Im sure there's a chance its stuck open. I would imagine oil pressure would have been lower than normal even when cold. Usually oil pressure dropping too low when warmed up is bearings.

yes i rotated the bearings, and like i said it did the same exact thing befor i removed the balance shafts. so i know its nothing to do with that. im going to check the relief valve now, but i dont think that is it either, becuz you would think i would be losing pressure at all times not just idle if the valve was stuck. and you wouldnt think it would make me lose that much pressure.. im leaning more towards a internally cracked block, and that would explain why it only does it when its hot ( the block expands opening up the crack)
