Ok bought a 96 gs spyder had a 2.4l sohc head. Just bought a 2.0 Dohc. Was going to turbo but decided too many problems as this will be my DD in the summer only! Would like to push At least 300 WHP. Need ideas for the head parts for now building one thing at a time. I have looked in to kiggly behive springs and 280 cams is this a g9od.start or not? If you could list parts below that would help me get this.goal and links please do thanks.

Ya my cousins race iMca modifids so I could probably get some.

Get some if you tune on e85 you need to always run it if you tune on 93 the run on that. Its not like your old Honda that u could kust shove whatever was cheapest at the pump where i live Im stuck with 91 so Thats what i use look around u at gas stations if you see u can get a steady supply of e85 go for it but if not you need to find the highest octane u can get every day sith no disruptions . Or keep your laptop in the car and be always adjusting witch will be a pita.

Ya high octane can be hard to find around here. And it'll be hard to keep a laptop in the car cause I don't own one. But ordered by eagle rods today. And hopefully getting my je pistons next week.

A 40 dollar laptop off ebay will get u tuning if your going to build a 700 hp dsm u are going to need on unless u plan on paying just as much in tuning as u did to build the motor

700 is just a goal not for the.first build. Maybe like 300. Or 400 would be nice for now. I don't feel like paying for axles and trannys everyday. Ya and ill probably have a shop do it for me the first time my friends have always tuned my car. And they don't like the dsm cars so they kinda suck duck me after getting rid of my Honda soo just shows who my true friends are.

LOL Your stock motor with a turbo will put most of them in there place ROFL

If you hit 400 and your on the streets in that fwd you won't have much traction to want to go further... my buddy had a 460hp si, not to get on the honda kick.... but, he swapped a 2.4l element motor with a greddy turbo kit... he could drop to 4th on the freeway and leave white smoke for a half mile. You won't want much more than that for a street build.

If your goals really are almost double that I'd switch platforms now before you get too much money sunk into it.

Ya I'm just hopin all goes well with this build. I think since I'm completely.rebuilding the block and.head that I will get some descent power. Maybe later down.the.road it'll be a track.car.it.good news my rods should be here sometime this week. Then ill pick up my pistons and a few other parts.and.start.getting the.machine.work done.

Hey just a random question is diesel cheaper where you guys live. I ask only because dies al is 3.69 and super unleaded here is 3.89

diesel is 10 cents higher than supper unleaded here. If your thinking track car your going to want to ditch the convertible now. Im afread your going to stick a whole bunch of money in this car and not like it just because you bought a dsm with the wrong options.

We'll I totally was an idiot a year ago! :ohdamn: We'll anyways guys I've came pretty far to get to this point. The block is at the machine shop getting all the new internals put into the car. I was hoping the oem crank would be good after all the car is really clean and looked like it was never abused. But got the call saying the crank was bad and that he could fix it with some welds. I told him no I didn't want to mess any of the new internals up. So I'm setting here looking at some forged cranks so I can get the block all put together and ready for paint. I will upload some pics when I get the time. And p.s sorry for being such a noob when posting this. Finally started to read and research and making since of a lot of things.

A turbo making 400 HP is going to be more reliable than an n/a motor that comes within a mile of you 300hp goal.

And as far as your 320hp Honda motor for 8k that is such a blatant lie ii can't even laugh about it. If you owned a powerful Honda motor before you would not be asking what parts to make power another engine. ill give you a little help though, mozt of the parts you need to make a reallg powerful 4cyl dont exist. You make them and then spend hours on the dyno to modify/optimize them to make 2-3 extra horsepower out of them. I use to rent shop space next to a national champion team that campaignd a miata and an rx8 plus had a few rides for rent. Ive seen first hand whay kind of development voes into building a powerful, race winning 4 cyl. Why dont you ask a Honda team in the koni challenge how much their 260hp motors cost?

"Sir", you are regurgitating what has already been said, a YEAR AGO.
The guy acknowledges his drawbacks and appears to have learned from them. But thank you for your input, also to many search engines have spell check included so...................

Why I'm on here does anybody know where I could have an engine harness made for my motor. I'd like to have somebody who knows what they are doing put me one together so I know it's done right. Any recommendation's would be much appreciated thank you.
