Air intake silencer?

Can I safely remove my star shaped silencer after the maf. Before the intake hose. On my 94 nt. and not have do any thing else. And if I did what benefits do I get. Will I here the intake more? Any more upper rpm horse power? I don't like to mess with that stuff with out a second opinion. Please. Any help?

you will be fine take that crap out i did it sounds better as for the upper rpm i have no clue bro.

yes. dont yank it out, take your air can completely apart, it will fall out. there are tabs holding it in, it will not easily yank out.

any restriction removal will thoeretically help. will you notice, probably not.
