I heard there is a restrictive silencer of some sort that is put in the car to make the BOV quieter, i was on vfaq.com and they said you should remove it before you get a new intake. Which i just got... so, where exactly is it? And is it easy to remove?

It's usually located on the stock lower intercooler piping. It's a plastic...uh, THING that is connected to the piping. Not really sure how to describe it.

disconnect the rubber tube connecting to the MAF housing/box/black thing. It is easier just to take out the entire MAF out of the car, then remove the silencer out of the back and the lower honeycomb out of the front. The Silencer looks like a circle with a zig-zag filter. Almost in the way an asterick would be * in and out, in and out. Remove that, and the small lower honeycomb on the other side of the MAF. you'll be golden.

Yep, on a 1G the silencer is inside the MAF. Do not remove the honeycomb unless you have some way to tune the car after, since that will change the way the MAF meters air.

is this on the 2g also?

Which part? I don't know if a 2G MAF has a silencer in the Air Can neck like the 1G's does. I don't think so because difference in the MAF connection but I don't know if there is something like it used.
