Numerous people have told me that my filter on my cold air intake is a very small one and that I should get a bigger one. They say that my car is starving for air and that by getting a bigger filter it will really help out. I really donut believe them, what can I really gain 1 hp I mean really. Here is a pic you guys tell me

As long as the surface area of the filter medium (not the pleats themselves, but the space they occupy) is greater than the surface area of the same on the factory filter, then there is still improvement over the factory filter. As far as capability, obviously other things such as pleat count and type of media have a tremendous affect on CFM. Cheap eBay filters tend to flow a LOT, due to their barely (if at all) adequate ability to actually filter the air.

I got a filter just like that with my eBay intake, (which I quickly got rid of in favour of something better) and it is my humble opinion that it could outflow a factory drop in replacement by close to an order of magnitude.

Although, larger premium filters aren't very expensive and can only cause gains.

and if you really want it cold wrap the metal in header wrap to keep the heat out

Thanks for the opinions guys, right now I'll probably just leave it alone as I don't think I would notice anything. Might try header wrap though, I was going to try that anyway because that chrome pipe does get pretty hot
