i was wondering if you disconneted the wire from the airbag ecu would the light come off. If so which one do i unplug cause the driver side airbag is no longer in use cause i did a evo steering wheel swap.

An SRS light means there is a fault with the system, and as a result the system will not operate. You need the code scanned to find and fix the fault.

You must check the wiring system of your dsm, the best is to scan and find the error code, but usually when one airbag is deployed it disarm the ecu, so even replacing the airbags you need to reset it.

The another way, if you are sure that there is no problem at all on your wiring system, is definetely replacing the airbag ecu for another one, usually on usa it is quite cheap.

I just swapped my dash to a black one. When I pulled the old one I didn't have an SRS light, but after the new one was in I do. Both air bags are plugged in just like they were before. Is there a way to reset the airbag ecu?

maybe you could just disconnet the battery terminal and the light would go away. I did a evo 8 steering wheel swap and the plugs are different so it couldn't plug up so i'm going to unplug the harness from the control box.

You do know that dissarming your airbags could mean the difference between life and death in a crash right? I would highly recommend fixing the problem rather than unplugging the ECU. Even though you have an evo wheel in your DSM, you should wire it to work or just remove the bulb from the dash. That way you at least have a working passanger airbag for sure.
