Aftermarket wastegate 14b turbo

Well right now i have a 14b turbo and no wastegate, so any will do, i would prefer an external.
 
It appears to me like you are trying to turbo a non-turbo. If you are going to want to run less than about 8 or 9 psi of boost you are going to have to choice but to go w/ an external and low bar spring.
 
The thing is i unfortunetly dont own a dsm, couldnt afford one. Im putting together a homemade turbo kit oifr my civic yeah civic LOL.. ANyways ive got the 14b turbo the o2 housing , and im not to sure about the wastegate, im gunna be running 7psi max, what do you guys think. SHould i just get a stock actuator.

you can buy a turbo dsm for like 500 dollars.

I really don't know what to tell you about this one. The stock actuators open up at 10psi. I don't think you can go any less.

why does your profile say you own a 93 N/T W/turbo then????

I think it's maybe they would not let him post in the advanced 4g63T section of DSMTUNERS..., but who knows.

Even the stock actuator would have to be modified to run 7 psi and you will most likely have creep issues as well. I can't run less than 15 psi on my 14b. That's not a problem for me as I run 20 daily, but you wouldn't want that with the higher CR of your Honda.

I would look for an external to run, preferably a Tial.
 
I was looking at the external tial was, how hard would it be to install one of these? and which size would you guys recommand?
 
An external isn't that hard to install... but you're going to need to either build or find a custom O2 housing with an external wastegate option. Otherwise, I wouuld stick with the internal one on a 14b. You won't see any gains going with an external. If you are set on an external, any size will do for just a 14b.

If you have a 14b, you more than likely _do_ have a wastegate, even if the actuator isn't there, unless it's been welded shut for some reason.

You sound like you don't really know what you're doing. I'd just keep reading around, and learn all you can.

I personally think you will have problems w/ a stock dsm w/g actuator. I would get an external and have it mounted on an exhaust manifold, or get an external setup on the o2 housing. If your turbo ever starts suffering from boost creep, you are going to trash your motor. Not to mention I would be scared w/ anything over 5psi on stock Honda internals. I wouldn't take that risk and would go w/ an external w/ a small spring that only runs about 5 psi.
