Aftermarket seats/ Seatbelts

So I have some Bomz Racing seats that were given to me and I was wondering if it would be possible to install the seats with some 4 or 5 point harnesses without having to put in a roll bar or harness bar? My car is a DD that will see very light track use, if any. I would also like to keep the stock belts if possible. Thanks!

tracks have very specific rules about seatbelts. you cant put the car on a track that has a seat belt harness without a harness bar. if your only going for looks you can mount the harness to the bolts on the back of the seat sliders but if you get into a crash your going with the seat.

Without a roll bar in case of crash will be like have nothing. You can use your stock seat belts anyway.

I wouldn't install those seats, much less a restraint system that isn't properly setup.

I also suggest against adding harnesses without harness bar. I had a friend install harnesses for looks and didnt help at all when he got in a accident.....long story short he ate the steering wheel!

Have those seats ever been crash tested? I know they did a lot of testing on even the big name brand seats (bride, recaro) and lots of those failed, you can look on youtube for videos of the tests. I personally wouldnt use them if they are reclinable, and if they are fixed back, I would be certain they are secure.

Not true at all. You can safely and properly attach a harness set to the chassis without using a harness bar. People do it all the time and it's safe and it passes tech. One thing you should NEVER do is bolt the shoulder straps to the floor. That's a good way to compress your spine during frontal impact.

And I agree Bomz seats are junk. Don't cheap out on seats.

That is a good explanation. Does anyone make a proper harness bar for the 1g?
If not, are the rear seat bolts acceptable for front harness anchorage?
