I'm looking into buying the aftermarket heated seats from hetaerseats.com. They are the same company that all the major companies use for their OEM heated seats.

Basically, I was wondering if anyone has installed heated seats into their DSM?

Actualy, I have a 99 explorer and I bought the heating elements/controls and put them in my stock seats...nice an toasty, will add about 1 pound....You could even theroeticaly put them in LIGHT weight racng seats....

I have seen those elements get some hog ring pliers and a how 2 auto upholsetery book.

Right now I heat with these FNA

No, because they way a ton.

No, what I'm talking about is the elements, where it's the wiring, and the control knob, and the heater element pad that is a paper thin sheet basically. that you take off the seat cover and put them in that way. No way that would really add hardly any weight whatsoever.

As for the junkyard, idea, I never really thought of doing that. it would likely be really cheap to get just the heater part out of the seat. Hmmm... Any info on install, and did it work well? And how much did it actually cost you to do the junkyard method?

Any info would be much appreciated. Thanksy!

If you do get them, make sure you buy the 2 peice PER seat version. Most of them are one long pad. Our (2g at least) is a seperate bottom and back section.

Here is an item number for an ebay auction for what I am talking about: 7936368944

Yeah, I'm looking for peoples opinions on them? Anyone who might've installed them, and has some sort of insight?
