I have searched all over and I have found great articles on connecting oil pressure gauges, which I am doing. BUT I have found nowhere stating whether or not I can connect my oil pressure gauge (electric) to the factory oil pressure sender. The gauge I ordered came with a new oil pressure sender but I am wondering if I can connect to the factory sender rather than putting the new sender on and then connecting it. I would appreciate any help.

There should be 2 other holes with alen key plugs in the front of the oil filter housing. Thats where you tap into if you want to keep the factory sender. Or you can put the after market one where the stock one was, since the plugs can be tough to get out.

Or you can get a male brass fitting into the stock sender hole and then get a brass T fitting and run both off the same hole.

And if you bolt the brass fitting directly to the motor, it will begin to leak due to the vibrations.

I would bet that the new pressure sensor you have has a different ohm range than our stock ones do. So I would say no, you can't just hook up the stock sensor to the aftermarket gauge.

I actually just installed my new pressure sensor about 2 hours ago. I put it in the dummy-light hole. I figure if I have a digital readout of the pressure, I won't need the dummy light.

Do not use a brass fitting! I was doing that and it broke and part of it was stuck inside that hole. caused some big problems i would just run the factory one or the after market one not both.

Hey guys sorry, maybe I asked my question wrong. What I mean is can i run the "sender" wire from the aftermarket gauge to the tip of the actual pressure sender. If I did my homework right I believe that the wire that feeds the factory pressure gauge is located at the tip of the sender. I already have my ground and power wires connected just not the wire that goes to the sender. I should have tried it today when I connected my air/fuel gauge but I didnt want to mess anything up. By the way thanks for the info on installing the aftermarket sender it will come in handy :thumb:

i just bought a autometer one and then mounted it off a stainless line behind the headlight to keep it happy.
